    Hello NBR,
I've been lingering here for quite some time and decided to make an account.
I am looking at a new setup (maxxed out dm4t, 23" 2310m monitor, M505 wireless mouse) and want to include the K800 Logitech Wireless Backlit (or something like that) keyboard. The package sounds tempting but the downfall is the 10-day battery life which seems suspicious compared to other Logitech keyboards' 1-3 years battery life. Is there any K800 user that can confirm with me that the 10 day battery life is using the backlit feature?
    Thanks,
    csm725

I just got the keyboard on Wednesday so I cannot comment yet about the battery life. You might know this already, but it is rechargeable, so you won't be replacing batteries, just plugging it into a USB port. I'll let you know when it dies. Just fully charged it for the first time today. :D

I knew it was rechargeable but for me it seems that plugging in in every 10 days is a minor inconvenience because I possess a USB splitter.

On the other hand, maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way and the wireless is just an extra feature.

And thanks for letting me know!

Yeah, you could look at it that way too. I bought a Logitech Performance Mouse MX along with it, and that comes with a wall outlet adapter, so I just plug mine into the wall. You might consider getting that mouse (its great) if plugging into a wall outlet would be easier for you.

Which one seems better, the M505 or Performance MX?
    Thanks for the advice.

    Edit:
I like the shape of the M505 more...

I wasn't sure about the shape of the Performance MX when I bought it on Amazon. But when I got it, I was sold. It does look kind of odd in the pictures, but it is very comfortable to use. I don't think the M505 has hyper-scrolling, which is a really neat feature on the Performance MX. And you can alternate between smooth scrolling and segmented scrolling (not sure if that's the right term). I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Now that I look at it, I would rather have the MX but it costs much more and I'm on a budget so it seems like the M505 seems more viable. Thanks anyway, I appreciate it.

Yeah no problem. Not sure if you checked Amazon, but its $85. Still a lot for a mouse, but $15 off MSRP.

Yep, I checked Amazon. The MX is $85 and the M505 is $30.

Logitech Performance MX is so friggin awesome, just by the way that it is shaped and feels. I really have no idea how they can improve on ergonomics beyond that mouse.

So is it really only 10 days of battery life?

I'm sure you can deplete it in one day if you use it for long enough.

In any event, I'm not sure what this means since batter life depends on usage, which is different than a device with a stable energy draw. Nevertheless, if there's an "average use" indicator that measures or reports this type of thing somewhere, I'd sure like to know about it?
