Wondering what others think about this new keyboard by Logitech.
Looks SWEEEEET!
I am constantly impressed with Logitech. They've come out with excellent speakers, wireless mice, and now an amazing new wireless keyboard!
Comes with something called "TouchDisk Scrolling... claims "Scroll at hyperspeed with a touch of your finger"....
Also, " Backlit stealth controls....
Hidden hot keys light up at a touch, and fade into the background when not in use. The touch-sensitive volume slider gives you precise, fingertip audio control"
Not sure if it's already available for purchase.....

Will be annoying to charge the thing and its quite expensive. Other than that it seems pretty sweet.
-
Priced at $200, I believe. -
too much for a keyboard...
-
From what I've read, the one charge will last you about 2 months on regular usage, so thats not bad, it would be a bit of a pain just to charge it everyday. its a little too glossy looking for my taste. Thats why I'm more interested in the microsoft's new upcoming keyboard, its charging base is A LOT LESS intrusive as well and I like the curved design.
too bad its even MORE expensive at $250 when released feb 07, but thats with the mouse. I wish they could sell it without the mouse. -

The DiNovo (original) was pretty sweet and it was great for notebook users, because the keyboard was basically idential to that of a notebook..... thin keys....
Anyway, charging won't be a problem, because right now all wireless keyboards are battery powered and while their wireless mouse counterparts use rechargable batteries and a cradle. Now, the mice need to be charged once every two weeks (no big deal), but the batteries in the keyboards last 6 months at the least..... so even if you have to put the keyboard on the cradle a couple times a month before you go to bed, along with your mouse... what's the big deal?
It's no doubt expensive, but look at that thing... it's beautiful! -

That microsoft keyboard is also sweet and improves on the already sweet MCE keyboard they put out last year. I use that keyboard with my media center and I know some family and friends that I gave them to for use with their W2's and they love them as well...... The update (as pictured above), improves on what was already darn near perfect for what it was meant for.... use in a lazboy in a dark room.
-
but at 250 a pop, that is steep. I thought paying 80 for a keyboard was already pricey.
-
They are both very beautiful. But man they are expensive.
I guess I'll stick with my $30 Logitech KB that works just fine.
-
if only they had a number pad. thats the only thing keeping me from wanting this notebook
-
you can always get a seperate pad but thats just more cluter. I think they don't have the number pad to make it more portable so you can sit on the couch or far away. sucks w/o the pad though as I use that a lot.

If anyone is looking for a slim keyboard, take a look at this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823155003
I own one and it has been fantastic. Great price. Wonderful response and a real pleasure to type on. Read the reviews on newegg.com. If someone wants more thoughts I can post more.
I owned the original Logitech diNovo for a time and returned it; I did not like it because it did not feel that 'accurate' to me - I am a very fast typer and I rarely make mistakes; I made more errors on that keyboard than I could count. I kept it for some time but never got used to it; people who I showed it to said the same thing. I would warn anyone interested in a keyboard to take a look at it first in person if at all possible. Considering that the keyboard is your number one way of communicating with the computer, it's best to get a feel for it. -
Does anyone know if the touchdisc can be used as a mouse rather than just a scrolling, thingy
-
Ok, I finally gave in and got the dinovo edge from circuitycity. I really wasn't about to spend $200 on a keyboard even if it did the typing for me, but they were on sale for $170 web price only. Placed the order online for pickup, went to the store to get it, its not even in stock! In return for the error, they gave me a $24 gift card and told me which store had it in stock. Had to reorder and picked it up, so altogether came out to $146 plus tax, now THATS a deal I couldn't pass up.
Now, mind you, I've been using a G15 for the past few months and the thing is nice, but big, with the macro keys go unused, it was taking way too much space and I didn't like the wire. The edge is VERY small compared to the G15 and feels nicer, much thinner. I'm not crazy about thin gadgets as they normally have a flimsy feel to it, and I was worried about the laptop keys as I like using full size keys for desk typing, but let me tell you, it felt nice and balanced. The only way for me to explain it is the typing feel of a regular typing keyboard but with laptop type keys. Wish they had these type of keyboards on laptops. My advice is try it before you buy it, but I do recommend it if your budget allows for it.
And the scroll pad can be used just like a touch pad, very nifty, but a bit small. Good for temp uses when sitting on a couch. -
That sure is a nice looking keyboard. Congratulations.

Where's the numpad?
Also, my last Toshiba keyboard is now missing the lettering from the keys WASDMNHJTYU and a cpl others I forget. It also has some sticking keys. Logitech are good but they're not perfect. -
@Chrisyano
Thanks, very much enjoying it.
@jess
unfortunately, the number pad doesn't come with it. Since I don't use it much, its ok. I plan to get a wireless num pad for those occasions where I need it. Logitech is good, but not perfect, but I believe no product is. -
I've been looking at this for a while as well, my KB for my computer stations for my notebook is getting old and jams quite often(I'm a student. Computer desk = dinner table = everything-table).
Perhaps a review? -
How is the range and how does she work with games?
Logitech the best replacement policy I have ever seen. If I have a prblem, I call them, and they send a new one. Simple. At 3-5 years a well used kb is bound to stumble. -
That thing is too cool for school!
Outrigger, congrats! I don't even care if it doesn't type... that keyboard is SLICK!
Enjoy... and happy holidays!
