This might sound kind of dumb, can I use a cordless Logitech LX5 mouse (brand new) on a Logitech receiver I happen to have from another one year old Logitech LX7 mouse thats broken, if I keep pressing the connect button?
I am thinking that the Connect button changes channel/frequency and maybe it'll find the receiver???? Read on to see what I am up to....

The story is I just got the LX5 Logitech, fullsize, (not "Notebook") optical mouse for $9 after some rebates, to use with my laptop. I slightly open the box and see it has the long USB cord with big receiver on the end. Shoot, I had assumed these days it would have the small thumb size USB receiver.
So I have another one year old LX7 Logitech mouse that the left button is broken, so it has the thumb size receiver I had hoped to use with my new mouse then.

I was asking before I totally unpackage the new mouse and try it. I can return it if not. Maybe someones done this?

BTW, that broken LX7 mouse is for the desktop computer and is being replaced by Logitech for free as we speak and they told me to throw the broken one away (don't send it back). So I have that spare thumb size receiver.

    :)
