OK, I've been working with this thing for a couple of days. At first it didn't want to connect. That was before I installed the included software, so I installed it. Then the mouse worked fine for a day or so, if it did cut out every once in a while, it was fine after a minute of fiddling. Now it won't even connect. The computer reads it, but it won't connect. First it did, it said it connected, but wouldn't work, though it was on; now it won't connect at all. I'm at a loss. I tried the reset button, the software, downloading new drivers (which turned out to be the same as the software that came with the mouse). Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance

I have one, it works real well for me..have you checked what bt stack you're using? the M$ one is garbage.

You mean the software I'm using to connect? Just Windows, as far as I know. It's just My Bluetooth Places. Is there something better I can use?

not real sure about compal notebooks, but on the dell that I have the card that came with it uses a toshiba stack. When you reformat M$ defaults to using their stack which often drops and has trouble connecting. I just got the bt toshiba stack off of the dell website.
The stack is basically drivers--not really the connection interface, although it does come with one. Hopefully someone with a compal can help you better -

Well, the drivers are the ones from the manufacturer. I've been looking on the website, Broadcom, and I can't find drivers. Or stacks. Or much else except for advertisements. It does have some kind of development kit, but that seems to be for writing applications.

OK, I found a place that says that I should use the Widcomm stack, but it's something I have to order. Is that something that would fix this, or is this really the problem. Unless it is something internal, it doesn't look to be the mouse that's the problem; it seems to be the software, at least to me, that's having trouble connecting to the mouse.
Update: now it's not even seeing the mouse. This is annoying. -
Is the mouse the only bluetooth device that's connected to the laptop? Have you tried to connect other bluetooth devices and had the same problem?
I have the same mouse for almost 4 months now and it does that sometimes but like once every 4/6 weeks or something. Setpoint software is garbage, you don't need it. Just use the microsoft ones and you'll be fine.
Go to control panel > Bluetooth, and remove the mouse and go back to bluetooth and search for it again, make sure once windows start searching for BT devices, hit the reset button till the green light start blinking under the ON/OFF switch and wait for windows to find it, continue the steps but don't set a password/passkey or whatever at the last window and it should work fine. Last resort is to RMA the thing, unless it's a known issue with Broadcom BT which I doubt. Try changing the battery, there's a red light at the back of the mouse that blinks whenever the battery is dieing. -
I'm using the V270 with the Broadcom bluetooth controller on the Widcomm stack and it works fine without the Logitech Setpoint software. I got similar results as you as the battery on the BT mouse started to run down. Might try putting in fresh batteries (although your mouse is only a week old so it really shouldn't be a battery issue)

I would check other bluetooth devices, but I don't have any others. This is the first one I have tried. I tried removing and re-adding it, but it's not even being picked up by the Microsoft software. The battery seems to be fine; the red light isn't on. It's only about 5 days old, and I haven't had it on that much. I will go get some more batteries, anyway, though, just in case.
Now it's reading the device as in the area, but it won't connect.
Update: I tried calling Logitech's tech support (the website wasn't very helpful). The number has been disconnected. Didn't even work when I tried transfering through their main office. Those guys need to learn to pay their phone bill.
Oh yeah, and the new batteries didn't change anything. -
This mouse works perfectly for me. Like others have said, avoid the drivers that come with it. I just used the bluetooth prog that came with my computer and the mouse was recognized very quickly. Maybe your notebook manfacturer has an updated stack available for download on their web site? Good luck.

That happened to me. I returned it for another. The second one works great.

Yeah, I'm probably going to be returning it tomorrow for another. I like this mouse, so I hope that's the problem. By the way, I found out my brother's phone has bluetooth, so I borrowed it and tried to connect it, but I don't know his security pass and all that, so I can't get it to work. Otherwise it seems to be working fine; it read the phone immediately, and all that. I don't think it's the software; must be defective mouse. Oh well, thanks.

Works great for me with no problems at all. I then ordered one for GF and another for a family member. No problems with none of them.
I didn't install the software, just the drivers that came with the CD. -
First one I bought was defective.....second one works well.
