    Hi,

I have searched this forum and have read what I could about Logitech's keyboard/mouse combo's - MX 5000 (which is BT) and MX 3000 (USB IR).

My wife will be going to college in the fall to take web/graphic design. She will be in a classroom of probably 20 students; all using wireless networks, bluetooth etc....

Her laptop (see my sig) has BT so I was thinking about getting the MX 5000.

My only concern is that with all those Wi-Fi and BT frequencies in the same room there could be some problems for her if she got the MX 5000?

If so then the MX 3000 would be the better choice.

Anyone have any experience with this?

    Thanks,

    Jason

I will reply to my own post.

Finally the wife has had a chance to test out the Logitech MX 5000 bluetooth mouse at school.

    It works!

I was expecting her to have problems given all the wireless products in her room (routers, several other mice [although hers is the only BT], etc).

I use the keyboard at home with the BT dongle since she likes using the laptop keyboard.

I don't know if the mouse would be suitable for gaming since it is used for graphic/web/animation design.

why would you need an external keyboard for a classroom setting?

the MX5000 bluetooth supposedly uses security codes to lock the receiver and mouse/keyboard together. I'd imagine it is less subject to interference than RF. It will ocassionally have it's own issues though.

They don't need graphics tablets? the Wacom pads come with their own wireless mouse IIRC.
