    Hi, I just recently purchased a laptop and would like to use it with my hdtv. My tv is about 25 feet from my couch and it would be nice to get a wireless keyboard and mouse that would work from this distance without any interruptions and is somewhat precise.
    I found this keyboard online: http://www.iogear.com/product/GKM541R/
    This one is specifically made for long distances and is quite cheap but i have never heard of IOGEAR (the brand) before. Is it durable?

    Also if anybody uses the "Microsoft wireless desktop 1000/3000", what is its maximum range? Can you recommend any other keyboard and mouse combos?

    One more thing is that I would like to use the mouse without the keyboard at times. Is this possible with these combos?

    Thanks for any help

    I've heard of IOGEAR, their gps devices get good reviews. Looking up a review of the keyboard might be a good idea. :)

    I use this this one at home;

    The range is great when the batteries are New/OK :D
    As mouse, I use Logitech VX Nano :D, But there is better mouse'es out there if you want better range. Not quite sure about the keyboard...

    is the one you are suggesting bluetooth? it doesn't mentions something like that but 33ft and 2.4ghz are typical fot bt.

    My opinion is to go for a bluetooth keyboard (and mice). it might be more expensive but the range is incredible. i have an almost identical to tunay's and i can use it from all over the house. and bluetooth gives you flexibility on connectivity

    p.s. 25 ft? you must have a huuuge tv!, i ve gone to cinemas where i had to sit closer than that.lol
