Hi been shopping around many sites looking for a good durable, tough, well designed weatherproof (Rain/Snow..) backpack or large bag to carry the Acer aspire 18.4 about in with a satnav and windscreen hanger kits cables etc. - a few books, manuals a large 10 inch x 8 inch toolkit wallet and disks etc...

Sounds a lot but I generally get it all into a small holdall minus the laptop at the moment and it doesnt weigh too much as the kit is fairly light.

The notebook has to be well protected and safe as it will be in and out of the car and clients houses all day long..

Primarily the laptop is used for my work and secondly it's for gaming, it may not always come with me and so I would like the bag to double as a general handy carrier.. Some of the backpacks have compartments that can be seperated and carried seperately?

The actual dimensions of the Acer are: 17 inch X 11 inch X 2 inch and it weighs about 4 kilos.. I have looked at some of the reviews in the sticky, but rarely find the manufacturer to be based in england and besides I'd like to know what you are using if you have something that fits the bill and you would recomend..

Any help would be most appreciated.. !

If you go through Acer forums, you will see people recommending this :

    http://targus.com/uk/product_details.asp?sku=TCB001EU

I bought that one and got highly disappointed. You actually need to force Aspire into it to close the backpack at the top, which leads to very weak, next to none protection from the top side. The design of the backpack is pretty decent and slick, but it just not the right one for Aspire 8930 in my opinion.

Apparently, this one : http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=txl617 does the right job for our Aspire and that's what i was looking for, but of course, it's not available in UK. If you go through ebay, you will find some located in US and AU, sadly the p&p costs elevate the price to 80-90 quids overall..
