If your'e just going to be seeing movies, it might be a better idea to have a IPS pannel as VA is just added cost for no benefit... I would in that case suggest looking at something like Asus MX239H/279H pannels which are AH - IPS and pretty good overall...

Acer benQ and Samsung make VA panel monitors, but benQ seem to be the major player. So just check out benQ lineup :)

VA panels are easier to find on TV's nowadays. They're becoming increasingly less common on PC displays.

IPS can't match VA in contrast ratio and black level. Since OP mentioned that he wants one specifically for watching video, I'm assuming those are the attributes he's after. And please stop recommending entry-level ASUS monitors. They're junk.

Excuse me, this is not entry level.. Its one of their best monitors with great speakers and very low input lag / ghosting...

You don't need IPS just for watching videos. That's way overkill. Any run of the mill TV will do.,

VA, not IPS. And I disagree, as I think the extremely low black levels and 3000-5000:1 static contrast ratios of even cheap VA monitors are to die for when viewing movies.
