    Hey guys,

I'm looking for printer recommendations. The time has come for me to replace my printer. I am currently using an Epson CX3810. This printer has served faithfully for the last ~10 years. Literally I never had one single problem with it. The problem now is that it's now hard to find ink in local stores. I generally buy ink at Best Buy, occasionally I'd purchase at Staples or Office Depot as well. But I'm no longer willing to find ink for a printer that's getting hard to find.

I was looking at the Epson Expression Premium XP-830. It was on sale at Office Depot for $130 down from $200. But mainly I was looking at Epson because I had such good luck with the previous printer.

What I want from a printer is something that prints great quality photos, and has good ink efficiency or ink prices. I'd also like something that is new, so that I don't have to worry about ink not being in stock any time soon.

    What are your recommendations? Thanks!

    Dan

I'd seriously recommend to NOT buy an Epson. I have a WF-2540, and I swear I've wasted more ink cleaning the thing than I've used printing

Hmm, I'll have to look into it. I never had to clean my CX381,nor had it clog.

I think the best one I bought without breaking the bank was a Brother scanner/printer. Then I just bought like ink pack for cheap on Amazon that gave you like 3 sets of colored and like 5 blacks for cheap instead of buying expensive "genuine" ink.

I have an HP envy 4500. I love the printer, setup is easy, and prints are quite good on high quality. The best part about HP printers are the fact that the print head is in the cartridge not the printer, so less maitanence is needed overall. I have my 2 dells, 2 iPhone 6s, ipad air 2, asus vivotab RT, and my sons MacBook air all connected via wireless to the printer. It all works great with it. Highly recommended.

Thanks guys! I'll look into those.

One thing about Amazon non genuine ink. I was basically told that the cartridges are less filled then genuine to prevent the in from coagulation as it sits on the shelf? Any Truth to the half filled rumor? Obviously if it is, but still cost effective, that's the route I'll take. Thanks guys!

I would ONLY buy GENUWINE cartridges. They are not that much more expensive....take it from a custom motorcycle builder....who specializes in ADV bikes! ha ha
