Looking for Slim Messenger Bag for a T60

    Hey everybody....

I'm currently in the market for a slim messenger bag for my T60. I currently use this, and it actually worked pretty well. However over the past 6 months I have started noticing threads starting to poke out, indicating it was not built to last (it was only $20, I"m not surprised I guess). The foam padding was not that thick, but pretty dense (was probably about 1/2 a centimeter all around).

I am looking for a replacement to this bag. I want a messenger bag that is equally or as close to the Targus in terms of slimness while also having a compartment for my AC adapter (yes, the Targus actually could hold my AC adapter). I dont want anything in any kind of crazy colors, odd shapes. I am not a fan of the vertical bags (The ones where you insert the laptop into the bag rotated... I dont know how else to describe it). I want something that will last, but obvious do not want to spend a large sum of money for it (<$100... maybe?).

Considerations I have picked so far (I work at Best Buy, employee discount ;) )
Option 1 (Looks nice, I have seen it in the store but not recently... I think its pretty slim from what I remember)
Option 2 (Ok, so it can't hold an AC adapter probably. But dude, it's a HARDSHELL slim case! Haven't seen that anywhere else!)
Option 3 (Non hardshell-ish version of Option 2 with a pocket! Can hold an AC adapter maybe?)
Option 4 and Option 5 (both are similar, but have different external pocket styles I think? I can't tell what else is different)

I am open to suggestions, as well as other retailers / etailers too. I also have considered getting one of the slipcases with the pockets on the side (I know Case Logic has one seen here but I don't know yet. Does anyone have any input on these or the 'shuttles' also listed on the page? )

They're called top-loading bags. I prefer messenger style as well.

$100 is quite a bit of money for a carrying case. I think you'll find most carrying cases under this amount.

Out of the five cases you listed, I would go with Option 3. However, I don't particularly care a ton for any of them. ;)

Yeah I figured $100 might be a lot, considering I paid only $20 for mine. However I am that kind of person that may empty my wallet a little more willingly if its for a better quality product. ;)

If you have any other recommendations to other products feel free to post... I'm open to suggestions.

Well, before I make suggestions, is your T60 as 15.4" or 14.1"?

Alright, to name just a few...

Microsoft Laptop Messenger Bag - Apex [$35]
Comments: Don't take it off the list just because it's from Microsoft. It's actually a decent looking bag with quite a bit of storage.

Microsoft Laptop Messenger Bag - Vertex [$38]
Comments: Vertical-loading version of the previous bag.

    Targus TSM005US 15.4" Urban Messenger [$50]
Comments: I own this bag and like it quite a bit. It's the best looking of the ones I've listed, in my opinion. I do have one problem with it, however. The strap that keeps it shut doesn't stay tight too well, it loosens rather easily.

Targus TLF210 15.4 Fusion Notebook Messenger Case [$43]
Comments: The great thing about this bag is it's simple, small, and relatively cheap. If I were to buy a new bag, I would highly consider this one.

Note: All prices have been rounded up the next dollar, even if under $.50.

    Good luck!

I'm surprised microsoft actually makes bags. I kind of think they probably are just branded, but anyways they do look pretty nice. However that Fusion does have that appealing *flare*

I forgot to mention that these prices are from Amazon. You may have guessed since I linked each bag to its Amazon page. ;)

Hehe. Definitely will keep these bags in mind until something else more appealing is shown to me ;)
