    Hey everyone,

I really need a waterproof backpack. I guess it would be ok if it was water resistant, but the laptop compartment would have to be totally waterproof and preferably padded for no damage to the laptop. I am searching the internet, but so far have not found anything. Please let me know if you know where I can find one. Thank you.

I dont' know where you might find such a thing. But I am curious... Why do you need a waterproof laptop? Just getting into espionage or something?

Try an extra large Zip Lock bag in conjunction with a water resistant backpack.

Honestly, it's pretty hard to make a water proof backpack when you need something to close the seams such as a zipper or velcro...that why you will not find one. You can turn a "water proof" contaner into a backpack

your best bet would be to get a laptop sleeve and carry it around in a quality messenger bag like the ones made by timbuk2, chrome, baileyworks, pac designs, reload bags, etc... real messenger bags, not the fake, designer bags, are designed to keep out water from the main compartment. the companies mentioned above are the ones bike couriers from portland, seattle, new york, chicago trust to keep their precious cargo dry during wet winter months.

I have the Python XL made by Booq Bags, and it is all made from ruggedized water-proof nylon and all the zippers are sealed too. This bag in conjunction with a sleeve for it would almost definitely be water-proof(except for maybe submerging it in water but honestly who would do that?). Check it out, its expensive but its a really nice bag. Looks cool too.

There are numerous sprays sold in many stores, that adhere to many surfaces that will "water proof" the material as well. Not sure the best spray for this, but in conjunction with all of the other options mentioned, buying a bottle of this for $5 and coating your bag a few times will go the extra step against water getting in. Good luck in finding what you need.

Thank you everyone!!! I already bought a bag. It's a High Sierra Access, it's not water proof, but is water resistant. I will try to find a spray to use with it, because I can't afford a very expensive bag now. Thank you again.

Yeah, I got the sierra access backpack too. I can just squeeze my e1705 in it. but it has the nifty rain shell thing in the bottom that works pretty well.
