    Hi,

I need suggestions for a big notebook mouse. That is, a mouse that is portable enough and at the same time usable in everyday work.

At home, i'm currently using the VX Revolution and I'm loving it. However, at work my boss won't authorize me to get such an "expensive" mouse. So I'm looking for something of similar size. I have looked at some small desktop mice but it would be nice with a mouse that has some mechanism for holding the dongle since I'm not so keen of searching through my bag for it.

So any suggestions for a big notebook mouse or a small desktop mouse usable for traveling?

You seem to be angling toward a wireless mouse, which for a notebook has always been an odd choice to me

Unless you are using a wireless keyboard, you are right on top of the laptop anyway, so why not go with a nice wired mouse like hte logitech mx518, which can be had for about $40

    Best mouse I've ever used

Actually, i have used a wired mouse, but in some cases the wire gets in the way. Primary when I work on airports and places with little space. The cord is then often unnecessary long and gets tangled with USB storage devices or drop behind the often small desktops.

The other reason is just that i like to keep my bag neat and its not that easy when traveling a lot, and the long cord always seems to get mixed up with other stuff in the bag (cell phone chargers, cell phone hands free, USB storage and so on). So keeping one cord out of the bag is always welcome. The MX518 is also a bit to big when the space is limited (on trains for example).

I tried to find a mouse with a short cord, but unfortunately all those seems to be tiny notebook mouses.

The V470 looks pretty fine. Will check it out at my local store. About the size, I have an VX Revolution at home, and that size is what I aims for. Right between the smallest "desktop" mouse and the normal "laptop" mouse.

A low profile desktop mouse may also be fine. Something that doesn't occupy so much space in the bag.
