I can't seem to find the right backpack for me. I want one that protects my laptop well but also that has preferably 2-3 large main pockets for textbooks. Any suggestions?

Check out the Targus 17” XL Laptop Backpack

Thanks!
Hmm that's a 17" backpack though, maybe a little too big for me lol. I got a 14" laptop so I don't want it to be overkill. -

Haha. I was going to recommend a 30 liter technical day pack....Can't get more comfortable than that.

I've owned a Targus and most recently a Swissgear. Swissgear is more comfortable, higher quality, and had more pockets and areas to stash things.

I agree that the Synergy is quite nice with plenty of space. It also fits my 14" laptop snugly. Although there's only one compartment that can truly store full-sized textbooks, it's quite large, as I'm able to fit probably close to 7 or 8 inches of textbooks.

I will also recommend the Swissgear Synergy. I use it daily, packed with my 14inch laptop, textbooks, etc. It has pockets for everything.

Just got my Ogio Epic today. It has lots of room.

The Swissgear Synergy is an excellent bag. It's one the most well-designed bags I have seen.

Check this out. I use this for my laptop and all my books.
It's an all around great bag. Newegg is currently out of stock though.
Looking for a BIG, comfortable backpack
