I'm looking for a good Laptop Cooler that will fit well under a 17" widescreen notebook and would like some insight on what people use. I'm planning on using this on my lap for the most part so a desktop cooler wouldn't be my first choice. Any and all advice is welcome.
X6000, 3.2 Ghz, 512meg ram, 256 ATI X600 video, 17" Brightview Screen, 60gig 7200rpm Hard Drive, 8X DVD Burner, 54g 802.11b/g WLAN w/ 125HSM/SpeedBooster

take a look at this for a solution:

it reduces heat by 15% - 20% and fan cycles 70% - 80% (claimed). I've heard good things about them.

This works great for me, cheap, thin, nearly silent running and very effective:

Two small self adhesive velcro tabs added keeps the laptop and pad joined together if desired.
