I have an extra 2.5'' SATA laptop drive. I would like to get an enclosure for this. I want USB 2.0 and OUTLET POWERED.

I have used a few of the usb powered ones and they exceed the limit of the onboard usb and then it shuts off all USB devices.

I've tried searching newegg and can't find any like these. Would it just be better to use a 3.5'' enclosure? I have a few of them ...

I'd recommend an AKASA SATA2 hdd-enclosure. It supports eSATA and USB2.0 and can draw power from both the USB port and a power outlet. It's great quality build (or so it seems), fast and reliable, with a stylish look, comes with all necessary cables and mounting screws, and even a black leather-like sleeve, all at a very, very affordable price...
