I need a bigger bag than my current messenger for my laptop. I am considering getting a backpack instead of a briefcase / messenger style for the extra space, but have some specific features that I want:

    - Stable, rigid padded bottom: Padded for the laptop, rigid for the ability to sit up (I prefer a bag with more structure and less slouch)

    - Separate compartment for laptop OR a section with a foldover cover for the top of the laptop: I don't want other junk I have in the bag mucking up the laptop by accident, e.g. pens that get unscrewed, glue stick, etc.

    - Will fit a 15-15.4" laptop (dimensions roughly 13.5" x 10.25" x 1.6") comfortably.

    - NOT a huge bag, if possible, able to fit under a plane seat. I also don't want something designed for a 17" that will cause my laptop to swim around the compartment/section.

    - Quality, quality, quality - No cheap zippers, fabric, etc. Please don't recommend a cheap-quality bag, price is not the most important factor here.

    - Nothing overly gaudy.

    Any suggestions? :D

i got a really good one that fits 15.4", it has an air padded section and it is against your back so it doesn't hand away from you, it also has a tracking barcode to put on the laptop if it gets recovered by police, it is a Tech Air with I-trak. it came with the name of the machine that made my bag and the person who quality checked it signed in it :p
