Hey, I need some advice on getting a bag that would fit the 14.1" T60 (dimension are 12.2 x 10.0 x 1.0 I believe off the top of my head). I'm looking for something non-backpack that would fit most of these conditions:

    1) Able to be carried over one's shoulder
    2) Able to be laid vertically (on the spine)
    3) Protective (not neccessarily hard, but will cushion against being bumped/dropped on occasion)
    4) Has enough room for thinkpad and thinkpad-related stuff (adaptor, mouse, headphones, etc)
    5) Not too big (thinkness, I don't need a hundred pockets)

I'm not sure exactly what I want right now, but I know I want it to fit the T60 well and I don't want to have to go crazy just securing it within the bag or untying anything when I want to get it out again. Price is questionable, but it's safe to say I'm not going to go crazy. Noreve, for example, is too expensive.

Thanks for any suggestions. I've found threads with lists of all the types of laptop cases and brands, but I'm having trouble finding one specific to this laptop.

there's a really good bag post in this accesories folder that has a link to all the different manufacturers that people could come up with. pretty much any standard laptop bag or some sort of messenger laptop bag should fit that requirement.

Is this a sleeve you're looking for? I've got a sumdex impactguard sleeve that fits it well, but it has no other pockets. I also have a pinder 'thin' sleeve that is the same width, but is taller (as in, it has more room for like the extended battery), and it also has a side pocket. It has thicker padding than the sumdex, though the sumdex's material is more technologically advanced. I ended up giving the sumdex to my girlfriend because I felt a bit safer keeping my computer in the pinder. The waterfield sleeve might be out of your price range, but it sounds like it might fit your description. If this is the type of thing you are looking for, I can give you more details about the fit on my t43. www.ebags.com is a good place to check out.

Yeah, I'm looking for something more along the lines of a messenger I think, with an extra pocket to put stuff in. But I've seen some of the messengers in the Office Depot that I work in, and some of them are just way too big for what my T60 will be. Others are a better size, but are too thick or a little too big. And then there are a couple that are just wimpy foam sleeves with no protection.

ebags wasn't working too well the other day when my dad and I were looking on it. We tried putting in the T60 dimensions, but it was spitting out recommendations for 17" laptop bags...

try Timbuktu, Tom Bihn, Pac Designs (which can accept Tom Bihn Brain Cells, which are sleeves). If you are going to go messenger style I recommend going with a company that makes messenger bags. The durability will be better and waterproofing very good to excellent. You may also want to look at Chrome.

What you can do for messengers that don't have a spot for a laptop , just buy a sleeve (Shinza maybe) . Check my sticky (see sig below)
