    Hello!

I need a printer for basic usage (printing/scanning college docs: mostly text with some images maybe... not usually pics)

My last printer was a MP210 which worked well. It cost around.. 40-45€ I believe, and it broke a couple months ago. It was supposedly a "photo printer" but I never used that feature.

This said, I was wondering if I should re-buy one of these or buy another one.

I need it to be as small as possible as I don't have that much space on my table. I also need it to be fast (as fast as the MP210 or faster maybe :p)

What kind of printer should I buy??

Thanks!! ^_^ (I checked the MP620 but I don't really need it to be wireless, and that makes it too expensive)

Stay with that Canon - hard to beat that price and functionality.

    cheers ...

    I'd havesaid Canon too :)

We have a Canon printer for about 4,5 years now and it still works great :)

You may even consider the "higher end" models - I think its 100 odd € for Gemany, so 100 odd $ for the high end one.

Not buying the cheapest will possibly be a good idea too.
(maybe second or third cheapest if you need to save money)

Which canon models would you recommend? I mean, I don'tneed a "photography" version. I'd prefer a smaller, faster, printer with less scanning / printing resolution, for example

(or well, just a smaller and faster one :p )

Similar to my old MP210, canon realeased MP250 and MP270... What are the differences? What about the price? (google doesn't know much about it)

Well, even the photo quality printers are reasonably fast :)
And you don't need to print at max quality do you?

A photo printer at "average quality" will most likely look better than the cheapest at "good quality".

Our Pixma (I think p3000) is a photo printer and reasonably fast I'd say...

Just look at the range and choose something you like - preferable no too far down.

If I'm not mistaken it is said that while Lexmark printers are cheap (seen this myself) cartridges are very expensive.

Yep! At least with my Lexmark. Kodak claims at the moment to save users on print cartridges, not sure how true that is yet.

    cheers ...

Get the same printer if it is cheap and a Canon and you like the size. I have owned about 3 Canon Printers and they all work flawlessly.

Unless you can live with the dimensions on another cheap Canon I would purchase what you had before.

Well, my previous printer was not really small... I'd prefer a smaller one, but I'm unsure if that's possible :p

I think there is always a compromise somewhere, the smaller the more expensive at good quality, the larger the cheaper.

You could get the tiny Canon printer - the portable one, but with 250€ that's way above your budget.

The larger Canon printers are thus in terms of printing quality good value for money.
    (If you value good prints)
