I am looking for a gaming KB(does not necessarily have to be a gaming KB but any KB that meets my needs). My most imp need is a decent palm rest(preferably soft and rubberized). I would also prefer it to be backlit. Am not looking to spend more than 50-70$(50$ being the preferred amount)

The Logitech G110 is a good choice for around $60. Has a good palmrest and a myriad of colors for backlighting as well as a gimmicky sound card port and a dedicated shortcut macro key slot. If you want a cheaper, but equally reliable keyboard, the Cyborg V.5 does the trick, albeit the palmrest is a piece of plastic and also the backlighting is not even. However it is around for usually $45.

There isn't one (a gaming keyboard) with an integrated soft wristrest if I'm not mistaken, at least not from the major brands.

    Personally I'd recommend the Sidewinder X4. Newegg.com - Microsoft SIDEWINDER X4 Keyboard

Integrated wristrest, and importantly a low-profile keyboard - with a short throw (but not laptop) action.

Decent gaming features, backlit, the only true N-Key-Roll-Over keyboard on the market (the PS/2 ones don't count, especially since we're on a notebook forum), in your budget.

I'm interested in knowing how it lasts 10x longer. It's taken a couple of years to do this on my heaviest-trafficked X6 and nothing has actually failed on any of my domes. I mean, I've probably RMA'd more mechanicals in the meanwhile.

Aren't the palm rests on the G110 and X4 plastic?? Sont know about the Cyborg V.5, it seems good but i don't like the fact that it has a smaller shift key.

Both are rigid. AS I said, I don't think - unless you get a regular keyboard and add a third-party wristrest - it's going to be an option, i.e. backlit + soft wristrest at a reasonable price.

Cyborg is plastic. I have one and the Cyborg also has two full size shift keys. I don't think you are looking at the right one??? I think the V.7 might have the shift problem but my V.5 is full size for both.

Hmm, i saw a couple of youtube vids in which the V5 had a small shift key, i think that may be a problem with the older models as those vids were old and even the pics on cyborgs website show the KB to have a regular sized shift key. Anyway, so how much would i have to increase my budget to if i am looking for a soft palm rest. I currently own an old Microsoft Elite kb and it has the perfect palm rest but sadly the kb has given up on me.

Just get a keyboard with no wristpad (or a detachable one) and get a good third-party soft palm rest.

yeah that is seeming like my best option right now.
Also does anyone know if the Logitech MX Revolution mouse is any good for gaming?? The logitech MX 5500 keyboard + Mouse set is 120$ on Amazon if the MX revolution is a good gaming mouse i might get it. I like that it is wireless and i checked out the KB at a local office depot and i really like it, sadly the KB isn't available standalone. If the mouse is good the price seems great and i will definitely get it.

Well, it tracks well enough for all-purpose use, but for gaming there are additional features which might be handy, such as on-the-fly DPI switching. You won't get that in the MX.

You can always sell the MX Revolution for a good portion of your money back and some die-hard MX Revolution fans prefer to get another new Revolution over the newer (and to them worser) MX Performance Mouse.
