I just ordered an Asus G50V and want to buy a bag for it. I wanna get something girly, but sturdy with lots of compartments. I know the laptop itself looks a bit ridiculous but I want at least a bag that will look cute. Don't wanna spend more than $100 if I can help it, but if something is absolutely adorable I'm willing to spend more. Thanks.![]()

my favorite messenger bag is the jansport air habitat. there is only one place you can buy it, from Dom's outdoor outfitters. http://domsoutdoor.com/Default.asp?bhcd2=1217530510
its cheap, 40 bucks. if you don't like it then check around that site, they have good stuff. -
That does look nice, although I don't really like red, but the design seems functional. I'm trying to work out if 8.5 lbs (6.5 for laptop plus 2 for bag) is too heavy a load for shoulders. Maybe I should be looking at backpacks to distribute the weight better. Thanks for showing me that site!
-
that one distributes weight VERY well, i love the strap. i put my m15x in it, barely fit cuz its so thick, and it didn't feel very heavy.

I was just about to create an account and ask this very same question. I've just purchased a Dell Studio 15 (15.4 inches) laptop and I've been searching around for a more feminine looking bag for it.
It seems like most of the bags that are out there aren't very girlie. They usually consist of the colors, black, grey, red or blue. All of which I personally do not like.
I did purchase the Targus Mode Messenger Bag/wheat with my soon to be delivered Dell only because it wasn't black and it had a little pink in it, but what I really want is a backpack.
Any ideas? -
Hi!Hi!
I have a what I consider a pretty cool *girly messenger bag* for my XPS 1530 and I just love it! It's large and very roomy
It's the Mobile Edge Maddie Powers Cutebug Messenger Bag
And, well just very retro, girly and sassy! Here is a link of a mini-review (with pics), I did on it a while ago:

Thanks for the pics and the review. -
If you end up getting this one, it's well worth it!
Can't say much more..just that I really like it ~ and get some pretty good compliments on it ~ when out-and-about with it!
Good luck, and let us know which one you went with!

Very cute bag. Their one with the purple background would match perfectly with the Plum Purple laptop I'm getting. Unfortunately, I really want a backpack. I'm concerned about having a messenger bag on my shoulder for long periods of time and how that might eventually start to put some strain on my shoulder. I could wear it cross ways, but I'm a little big in the bust area and it makes me a bit odd looking with the strap in front.
Thank you very much for the suggestion. -
Here is a linky with most of the Maddie Powers ~ if you want to check them out!

Good luck to you, also

yea.... but can it do this???
http://www.instructables.com/id/Laptop-bag/
thats actually more of a sleeve but its still kind of cool.
i still prefer jansport. they can make cool, girly, and functional bags then splice them into something awesome. -
Jansport is good ~ I have a friend that had one..but I'm more into the Maddie Powers for the retro graphics, and the *my needs*, factors!
Cin -
well i can't think the same way you do, its always function over fashion for me.
good thing my bag looks amazing.

Its so bright red, even though i like to keep to the background and no be flashy i love this thing, sooooo sexy. -
-
^
However, I do both function and fashion...My messenger bag is great for storage, durabilty, and keeping my lappy safe..I searched for awhile before I found itI can be picky when it comes to my lappy
-
This bag looks girly in my opinion. Look at purple and blue colors.
Though I love my SuperEgo more for its style; but that isn't as feminine I guess.

BTW: I received my Targus Mode Messenger bag today. I see Dell has it on sale now.Although I do not have a laptop yet to put in it, it seems sturdy enough and has some good cushion to it. I also bought a sleeve to use with the bag just for some extra protection.
-
Some of those look really cute! I get the impression that laptop bag makers make mostly messenger bags for girls. I wish they made more backpacks to choose from. Thanks for all the links! -

I got a couple of books and put them in there and the weight didn't seem too heavy. This is coming from someone who has no upper body strength.I'm not sure how it's going to be with the extra weight of a laptop.
I took a few pictures with my cell phone. Sorry for the poor quality.
The back: Has a small pocket big enough for a couple of folders or a few pieces of paper.
The bottom: I was hoping for some kind of hard plastic part on the bottom so it wouldn't get too dirty when I set it on the ground, but it's just fabric.
When you lift the flap there are three little pockets and a small zippered pocket that can hold a small notepad or a few extra pencils. There is also a special place for an id-card with a see through window.
Inside
I don't have many large books around the house, but I did put in two smaller hard cover books that fit in there.
It comes with three different colored straps. It was shipped with orange which I immediately took off and put the pink one on.
I can't give a real review until I've used it, but other than the bottom not having any kind of guard for the ground, it seems ok. -
This is just lovely!
-
Feck, I just realized zappos only ship to the US and Canada. I guess I need to look for these same models elsewhere online. And again, thank you, Luvmylaptop, those are some great backpacks. I have to say the brown one is my favorite out of all of them too, although the Dakine ones are cute too. I have that same NF Recon backpack in black and it's comfy and roomy but it's not my favorite because it's black. There are sooo many pockets in the Ogio, I can just imagine what goodies I could stuff in it.
-
If I wanted a back pack..prob's this one
It has 2 good mixes of colors ~ brown and blue! (same as my bedding)! WoOT
And, blue is my fav. color!
OH..since I'm keen on Mobile Edge..here are some backpacks I found..

Aaah what's a girl to do??? LMAO
Cin' -
Strawberrycrush, thanks for the pictures. I know what you mean about no upper body strength, I recently started lifting to remedy this problem. The wheat/pink is a great color combo, I hope it doesn't get too dirty too fast cause it is pretty light. It seems like it has enough padding to make for a pretty secure bag for a laptop. You should write a review once your lappie arrives and let us know your impressions. Can...never...have...too...many...bags.
Do you girls know of any etailers that have a good variety of laptop bags and ship international? Better yet any that also have accessories like headsets, flash drives, etc cause ordering all at once could save me on shipping big time? Zappos has awesome choices for bags but their FAQ says US/Canada only so I'm kind of SOL. -
That's why I loves the gym
Anywho...here is a link for EBags UK.....check it, nice bags

I'll try to write a more detailed review for the Targus one and the Ogio Pin Stripe one. I just ordered it this afternoon. They initially said it would be shipped ground (3-5 days), but I just got an email saying they gave me free priority shipping so I should get it by mid-week.
I'm still looking around for backpacks, I'll try to keep an eye out for international shipping.
-
North Face Jemma
-
There are some European etailers that I know of, but not ones for electronics and their prices tend to be almost on the same level as if I just go out and buy from an irl store, so no point. Everything in America is so much cheaper, that's one thing I miss. lol -
coolcomputerbags.com ships internationally

I thought I would give a small update now that I have my laptop.
I'm very sad to say that my 15.4 inch laptop did not fit in the Ogio Shifter backpack.I even tried sticking it in the regular part that wasn't meant for the laptop (the no cushion part) and it still wouldn't fit. I couldn't even zip it shut. I'm very disappointed as I loved the style of the backpack. Oh well, I guess I'll be using it as a regular backpack or maybe I'll just store it for if/when I buy a smaller laptop.
As for the Targus Messenger bag that I bought directly from Dell, it's kind of meh once you get the laptop in it. The laptop did fit, which I had no doubt about since it was from Dell and they specifically said it was meant for a Studio 15, but it still was kind of a tight fit.
I had bought a laptop sleeve and both wouldn't fit in there at the same time. Also, there isn't as much room once you put the laptop in there as I thought I would have. All my accessories, like my mouse and power plug fit, but it leaves little room for much else. I think if you are a student, this bag definitely wouldn't be for you. I'm not a student so I think it will be fine for me.
I really wanted a backpack, but I suppose the Tagus Messenger bag will do for when I need to occasionally take my laptop somewhere. I'd buy another backpack, but I've wasted enough money already. -
and
..sorry that's just kind of stinks, for you!.....
So, your just going to use the Targus Messenger Bag? If, that works, it's cool...especially, if you don't want to put any more money into another.
What you had bought...Are they not returnable for money back..or even an exchange..for something that will work for you?
Backpacks and Messenger bags ~ should not only be able to contain the lappy, but all the *extra* needed things...
Cin -
I got the Ogio backpack from zappos.com and they have a 365 day money back guarantee. Unfortunately, I altered the bag a bit already so I don't think they will accept it. The backpack had these faux bits of leather on all the zippers. I didn't like it so I took all of them off and threw them away. I think that will void any kind of return I may have been able to do. I don't mind though as I really like the backpack and I think I would have kept it anyway. I'm just going to use it as a regular backpack.
As for the Messenger bag, I'm past the 21 day return policy that Dell has so I'm out of luck there as well. I'm not sure if Dell does exchanges. I'll have to look into that.
I probably won't buy anything online anymore without seeing it first so this won't happen again. lol -
I'm not sure if Dell will do an exchange...give them a holla you never know..and maybe the luck will be on your side!
I hope so! Let me know what they said!
You would think that backpacks/Messenger bags would be so simple *online*..
Cin -
I've thought about it for a bit and I think instead of calling up Dell and asking for an exchange, I'll just keep the bag. I doubt they do exchanges anyway. I'll probably just use the messenger bag more as a place to store my laptop when it's not in use. I won't be going out much with my laptop anyway so it's all good.
I realize that you've got to be really careful when buying a bag online. The dimensions can be a little tricky. -
It would be great if they would do an exchange though!
I got lucky with mine...it ended up being really roomy, and fits the 9 cell batt for my 1530 just wonderfully
Who knows....maybe one day you will be in a store shopping and a *bag* will just pop out at you with a really awesome *buy me price*)
You never know!
Cin -
Check out Lacoste if you are looking for some style.
Looking for a girly backpack/messenger bag, 15'4''
