I know I am going to lose major cool points (if any are still remaining) but I have been using an xbox 360 controller for the last year and a half of PC Gaming.

    I know I know!

But now I am interested in moving to a mouse, the accuracy in shooters and the look function in general is much better than what a thumbstick is capable of.

Right now I am thinking of pairing either a Cyrborg Rat 7 or 9 with a Razer Nostromo Gaming Keypad. The Cyborg R.A.T. 9 has 5600 but is wireless, whereas the 7 has 6400 DPI.

If anyone has tried the Logitech G13 and the Razer Nostromo, please offer up your opinion. Right now I am leaning towards the Razer Nostromo.

Is this mouse any good? It looks friggin awesome, in a Batman, Terminator, RoboCop kinda way.

I'm looking for a wireless mouse. The rat looked good..I was going to buy it but after watching it in a few videos...does the case always stay open like that? Why couldn't they make one that looks normal

I had a wired Rat and though it looked cool it wasn't comfortable in my big hands. The Razer Mamba was good but the battery life wasn't, and the wifi reciever is on the end of a cable and is quite big so not the bewst for a laptop setup. Both the Logitech Performance MX and g700 have been very good for me. Great battery life and a small reciever.
I bought the g13 because I though gaming on the Alienware keyboard would be hard but the soft rubber coating on the wrist rest makes it not bad at all. The g13 worked but you'd have to use it a lot to get used to it and because the keys aren't labeled with standard key names if your looking for a key you can't just look at the g13 to know which key to press. You have to use trial and error to find the right key.

As said above, G700 would be the most convenient and useful mouse out there.

Pair it (setting its default sensitivity to some 4000 dpi at least) with a high quality mouse pad and custom teflon feet and you can the best mouse control and accuracy there is. At my end that's Razor Ironclad and Corepad Skatez Pro 33 respectively.

I plan to use my m18x at uni and work. So..no mouse pad to carry around. I just want a laptop and a mouse. How well does it work on a table surface? (either white, or brown surface) and how long does the battery last on this thing? I'd probably use it for everyday use too

I have the .R.A.T. 5 and it has served me very well, fits well in my hand, highly customisable, and in my opinion I like the look of it.

    Hi,

I have the Razer Mamba 4G wireless (it can be wired) mouse and the Nostromo Gaming pad. Both work superbly. :)

I've got a Mamba that I've used for about one and a half years now. It still works well other than the fact that the stand will no longer charge the mouse, so I have to plug the USB cable into the mouse directly...

Quite honestly though, I really like the look of the RAT 9 and that's probably what I'd go for. Just make sure that you pair your mouse with a good gaming mousemat too - it makes a huge difference. (Razer do make excellent mousemats.)

For MMO gaming, I like the Razer Naga Epic, although I do think Razer's quality control leaves something to be desired (I've gone through three of them, all within warranty thank God). That said, their support is good. I saw that Logitech came out with a Naga competitor as well (I've found Logitech's mice tend to be built better), but I don't think it's wireless (yet).

I've got a G700 and I'm very happy with it. Solid construction and great battery life (one of the reasons I didn't get Razer)
    I highly recommend it :)

I've got a 3x Logitech G700s running on my desktop and laptops. You can use them corded (just leave the charging cable plugged in) or cordless with the battery. Plus it uses a regular AA rechargeable battery that you can just buy and replace on your own if need be. Recommended!

I like the idea of the G700, but personally (and this is TOTALLY my own opinion), I didn't think they were very comfortable to use. YMMV though.

Thanks for all of the feedback everyone! Seems like a lot of endorsement for Logitech's G700.

I went with the Cyborg R.A.T. 9 wireless and am waiting for my gift card from dell to purchase either a Logetich G13 or Razer Nostromo, of which i haven't made up my mind.

For anyone also looking for a keypad, I found the following video to be an excellent comparison between the only two available:
