I am currently looking for a good quality speaker system for my laptop that I will be taking off to college. I don't really feel like spending more than $100. I was looking at ALTEC LANSING FX4021 PC Multimedia Speaker System off of the Dell website. They are going for $99. Looks like a great system. I want a system with a good bass but a bass that won't get me in trouble with others around me for I will be in a dorm room. And sound quality is also very important. I want it to be crisp and clear while holding a good level of bass as well. I am open to any helpful suggestions. Thanks in advance! :)

It would be great if you could provide links wuzertheloser. Thanks. :)

And yes Murdoc, I am looking for a 2.1 system... Though it does not have to be a 2.1 system. Thanks for the two links above as well. I like the Altec one.

Consider the Bose Companion 2. They offer excellent sound.

I just purchased the Altec Lansing FX4021. I find it to be a great system. I already have a Bose Companion 2 for my desktop. Though, I'm finding this Altec to produce better sound quality. Anyway, thanks for all the helpful suggestions all! :)

    Bose are usually overpriced.

I've never heard of the FX4021, must be a newer thing. I have the Altec Lansing MX5021 and it's one of the better sets for the price range.

Yeah, the FX4021 is fairly new.
