I have had the logitech G500 wire gaming mouse for 2 years before it got smash in a car accident.

It a good mouse but the wire kept on tangling and after a while it was more of a hassle to get the mouse out of the bag.

I decided that even though there are good wire gaming mouse I would much rather have a wireless gaming mouse.

    Any suggestion?

Wireless are more expensive i'm looking for a decent price one.

I really like the look of it but it around $120 and I think that too much for a mouse.

It as expensive as the Razor Mamba.

Do they usually have sale on that mouse? I definitively get it if it around 6o to 80 dollars.

well, sometimes good things are expensive. Like a Ferrari. imo it's worth it. It never becomes outdated. It's not like pc components.

In your price range, the only two options are the Razer Orochi and the Logitech G700. If you were happy with the G500, you will be happy with the G700, since it is extremely similar. The only differences are the shape and the fact that it is wireless. The Razer Orochi is the cheapest wireless gaming mouse, but it's bluetooth interface and specifications make it below average compared to other wired and wireless gaming mice.

Sorry dude, but a mouse is a PC component. And why is the Rat 9 a "Ferrari" of gaming mice? In this case I see no reason to justify such a high price tag.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but I'm looking for a bluetooth mouse thats a little more comfortable, the razer orochi looks kind of small and uncomfortable like the Microsoft bluetooth mouse. Is it that size or bigger?

sorry but it isn't. it's an input device. you don't need any mouse whatsoever to make a PC work. Specially in notebooks where most have trackpads.
try to make a PC work without a pc component like cpu or ram. you'll see the difference.

I use everyday a razer orochi and a RAT 9. the RAT9 is massive and it's way too big to carry around. specially with the bulky reciever.
with the orochi, it's small and handy and it fits everywhere. it's not as small as most portable mouse but it's below average. I would say it's the absolute minimum acceptable size for a mouse.

I might take a side by side picture later.

    Thank You

The G700 is exactly what I was looking for as I wasn't sure which Logitech mouse was wireless.

I wish they made a wireless deathadder, I always wanted to try a Razor mouse.

The Logitech G400 is the current version of the MX518. It is the same mouse but without prediction and with double the maximum DPI.

LOL. Try to make a desktop or laptop work without an "input device" and see how much fun you have.

I must say the G700 look so much better than the G500. There are more button and I love the sleek all black look. I need to wait for the mouse to go on sale, just got a parking ticket so there goes my money left for a mouse.

in the pic the orochi seams just a little smaller. but it isn't. it's much smaller. the extra space does all the difference on how you have to use the mouse.

imo the best way is to try before you buy because there isn't a best one in the world for everyone. there are personal preferences. it's a very subjective choice.
I had a G700 and I hated. I had a mamba too and it was great but I preffer my RAT9.
for mobility I only use the orochi. can't find a better small bluetooth laser gaming mouse.

Anyone know how the Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX is? For gaming? It looks just what I want however I do not know how small it is compared to others. My current MX518 is perfect size.

I currently have a Razer Orochi and I agree it is small but it is perfect for gaming for me. I used a normal desktop mouse before I bought it and at first the Orochi felt different because of its size but it was really smooth.
Every since then, I use that mouse almost for both my laptop and my desktop for gaming.

There are deals for the mouse occasionally as well. I bought mine on woot.com for ~$40 after taxes.

I haven't tried the logitech other people have mentioned so I can't judge if it is better than the Orochi.

I am also looking for a portable mouse that I will be able to use on my laptop. I like the the R.A.T. series for there customization but the only wireless R.A.T. has a large receiver that kind of kills it.
I like the Logitech G700 though, with a small receiver and large amount of user adjustable macros. It has a decent price to.
The Razer Orochi is also an option, however it is small and I don't know if I will find it comfortable to use. Does anyone know the difference between the regular Orochi and Blade Edition?

The G700 I won it in a contest and tried for a while but never got used to it and sold it.
I got the mamba but then the RAT9 came out and I tried it and loved it and bought one and sold the mamba. but both were huge to carry around so I wanted a bluetooth laser gaming mouse. well there isn't many choices. I got an orochi too.
so that's what I since a long time ago.

I also have a wireless logitech mouse M510 but I never used it. I only got it because I wanted a logitech wireless wave keyboard and it's only sold with the keyboard+mouse combo.

I don't think it's too much money because it never becomes outdated like hardware. I've been using this for a long time. imo it's the best investiment. if you think it's what links you to the machine. I give that great importance. much more then a more powerfull cpu or something like that. I changed setups many times but I always kept the mice and the keyboard so it's all worth it.

sorry for the great quality pic... micro sd card for size comparation

    the reciever thing.
insanely bulky. that's one of the bad things. I also don't like the fact that uses a proprietary battery. I like AA ones. also there's no way to buy new batteries. it also doesn't work in a corded mode.
that's the only things I would change.

    i got g700 yesterday.
    Overall i like it

What i didnt like however is:
    1. Wheel — it doesnt have any feedback whatsoever. Scrolling is completely random and unresponsive. Sometimes it will scroll super fast, when u want to scroll a bit, sometimes it will scroll down after you scrolled up. That wheel is on its own there.
    2. Something is shaky within a mouse. I suspect bad battery fit, will try to put smth in there and see if it fix a problem. Or it can be that stupid wheel xD
    3. I wouldnt mind it to be "wider". Length provide good palm rest but a bit more width wouldnt hurt. But thats persobal.
    4. No native os x support. But i am used to that.

Other then that its my first wireless mouse so i am excited and it feels cool.
+ whole wireless thing is smart: receiver is tiny, you can use cable on the fly, std battery inside
+ lots of buttons with native memory. I can program it in win7 and it will work in os x

Native OSX support should not be a problem. Configure the mouse how you want in windows, and then everything will be saved onto the mouse so you can use it however you like in OSX.

I agree the hyperscroll wheels kind of suck. But once you start using it more, you will get used to it and you will probably like the hyperscroll feature, even if it isn't worth the trade offs.

and its a wheel which is shaking. If i shake mouse it makes weird noise unless i push on the wheel.. Make it feel less solid overall. And while gaming it just make weird noises 24/7 since you are actively moving a mouse all the time.

Ok after trying to get used to g700 for 3 days i am going a bit desperate.

I am failing to generate precise aiming whenever i am doing fast swipes with a mouse even on medium sensitivity. The wheel IS loose, not only its shaky, its also randomly going side to side and generating side clicks and occasional automatic scrolling. While i can disable side wheel clicks the whole shaky concept make me feel like i am shooting with a sniper rifle while holding a hamster in the same hand.

To give an example — you do a fast swipe to the right, wheel leans to the left, sometimes generate a left wheel click then whenever you already positioned mouse and ready to take action wheel goes back to neutral and give you a feedback. I can prolly live with that in shooters but in RPG or LoL when your APM is 100+ and you are clicking all over the place that just feels stupid.

Speaking about shooters, trying to choose a weapon with scrolling is like playing a slot machine.

There is something wrong with your mouse. RMA it. When you get your replacement mouse, make sure acceleration is off and everything is set to 1:1 for pixel to pixel.

does it knock for you when you slide it side to side fast? Is there any sound and feedback on the surface?

Bought it online so returning might take a while, want to make sure i want another g700.

I have the G700 and so far the problems mentioned above doesn't exist for me. The first thing I did when I got it was I installed the downloaded drivers (didn't even open the CD). Then I plugged in the mouse (off) to charge. Once the indicator showed it was full, I unplugged the cable, plugged the USB dongle in then turned it on. So far it's every bit of awesomeness I've expected.

I have no issues programming buttons and they remain on the internal storage with no issues.

as far a the wheel goes, what mode is it in? the "button" closest to the wheel controls whether it's in free-spin or the notched typed spin. click it and see what I mean.

also make sure you're using a mouse pad as it doesnt like the couch.

I had the G700 and I never encountered the issues mentioned (and I have complex thumb key macros set for world of warcraft at the time).

while I still consider it the best wireless gaming mouse i've used, it only took 3 months before the left mouse button started to "double click" (replacing the button inside from an older logitech mouse i had fixed it).

and also on wireless mode the battery only lasts me 10-15 hours of gaming before needing to replace or going "wired" mode.

I'm quite sad to hear this. I was looking for a wireless mouse with a couple extra buttons to replace my Logitech M515 couch mouse. I love the M515 since it works great on my couch arm and I haven't replaced the batteries in over a year but the lack of extra buttons is starting to get to me while playing Diablo 3. The search continues...

I have a Mamba and an Orochi, but personally prefer the mobility of the Orochi more than the benefits of the Mamba. They are both fine enough mice, don't get me wrong, though. With the bluetooth setup the Orochi does not require anything to be plugged into my laptop and I can just whip it out and start using it without any fuss. Size wise, it never bothered me. I know it doesn't have as many buttons as some of the mice out there, but it is, to me, the little mouse that could. ;)

It also fits in most laptop bags without creating too awkward of a bulge.

I recently picked up a Razer Naga Elite and so far its pretty good. If you need buttons, this is the mouse to get... 12 on the side and 2 more on top. Battery life seems to be pretty good too (with the LEDs set low)
