So I need a new monitor for work and they have told me to look on the LG or Samsung website and choose one that meets my requirements.

I don't know much about monitors besides the basics, but I need 24", 1080p, IPS.

I will be using it for basic work functions but also for presentations for a small group.

Which brand is better and what model should I get?

Edit to add: Nothing too expensive, between 150-300$ CAD

Have a look at the Asus MX239H... There are plenty LG IPS monitors too which are good.. Don't get Samsung monitors..

Thanks for the response! I think I am only able to get LG or Samsung because they get it from the wholesaler. Which LG would you recommend? I don't know the difference between the models.

If you ask me, every brand has its good monitors and its bad monitors. I've had good experience with LG IPS displays though.

I use LG IPS monitors myself. I've got 3 of them hooked up to my PC.

Honestly, 24" 1080p IPS monitors are pretty much all the same these days. You're not going to find one that is significantly better than another.

If you're not doing professional photo / video / graphical work, then the only thing you really need to worry about is aesthetics, connectivity, and adjustment (stand). OTher than that, everything about image quality will be "good enough" for office productivity use to the point where you won't be able to tell the difference.

    i'd agree with kent1146
Theres not much (if any) difference regarding Picture Quality in 24" Displays with IPS anymore.

I agree on monitors. I do also have a good history with LG.
