I used the search function only to find that the Wireless Mouse topics were a bit dated and there are some new comers in the market. I am currently using a Logitech MX Performance mouse and have been for the past year and a half. I love everything about it but I feel that I could benefit from a moue designed for gaming with more buttons and better DPI switching. Before I purchased this mouse, I tried the Razer Mamba and hated everything about it. It felt so wrong in my hand that I returned it in 3 days. The thumb buttons were poorly positioned and I had to reposition my grip in order to press them.
Can someone recommend a good wireless gaming mouse to go along with my new MSI which is on it's way? Thank you.

really few wireless gaming mice out there, best would be the g700 although battery life only lasts 8-10 hours straight gaming (has a cable to recharge the mouse so you could still play wired which what the mouse ended up for me)
-
The Mamba, G700 and R.A.T. 9 are the three main contenders in the full-performance wireless gaming mouse category. Since you've ruled out the Mamba (my personal favorite
), that leaves the G700 and R.A.T. 9.
I would personally avoid the R.A.T. series, as they have been known to have sensor issues and poor software, not worth the customizable design. I'd say the G700 is your best bet. -
Roccat Pyra works great for me, you get more buttons by using "easyshift" which allows you to hold the "easyshift" button (which you assign) and have different funtions for all other mouse buttons all together. For me I love the grip, though it's a portable wireless gaming mouse it has the feel of a full sized mouse. Chargeable batteries through USB so you can charge while playing. For me it's perfect. On a side note though, I prefer simplicity over complexity which is why I find the R.A.T. series to complicated and sophisticated for my taste.
Cheers.

I decided on the G700. Thank you to those who made recombination. I didn't think I would be able to find a mouse I liked as much as the MX Performance but after using this G700 for just 2 hours, I am amazed by it's performance and feel. Every button is perfectly placed and the movement feels like butter. There is next to no resistance at all when moving this mouse across my pad.
In the end, I am really not surprised by it's performance as every single Logitech mouse I've ever owned has performed very well. In fact, after purchasing this G700, I will probably never use a mouse made by another company for the rest of my life. It just seems that Logitech isn't about gimmicks or crazy looks. They are just about function and performance. -
Get the rat so you can customize to your liking because the g700' has a similar shape to the mamba more or less.
-
1. The Mamba and G700 are nothing alike in terms of shape
2. The R.A.T. series is known for sensor issues, making it an inferior mouse in terms of what matters most
3. The OP of this thread already got the G700. -
I got the G700 and love it. It is nothing like the Mamba. The Mamba's design made it extremely uncomfortable for me. The buttons were also poorly placed to the point I had to shift my entire grip so my thumb could press them. The G700 feels like an extension of my arm. The buttons are also perfectly placed. I purchased it at Best Buy so I could just return it if I didn't like it but this mouse is staying with me. Best one I've ever owned.
I considered the Rat but in the end, I've never had a problem with Logitech mice so that was the deciding factor. I think it's hard to argue Logitech's quality when it comes to their high end mice. Lastly, I don't know what the Rats USB dongle looks like but the Logitech nano dongle is so small, it doesn't need to be removed when traveling. -
The RAT has a sort of battery dock as the receiver. So when your current battery has run out, you just slide it out and exchange with the one charging on the dock
There's also a place for the weights on it. Smaller than the Mamba's receiver, but definitely not just a nano receiver like the G700.

That's one of the reasons I got the G700. It uses a AA battery and I happen to have a ton of AA Energizer rechargeable's sitting around my house. Or I can just use it in wired mode while it's charging.

Congrats on the G700 purchase. I love mine. It was the only mouse I found that could truly replace my aging G7(s), and since I picked it up it has been almost flawless (the flaw being I always forget what profiles I have on it when I take it to another computer to use as a travel mouse).
USB charging is a huge plus, since then I can just steal a cord from whatever device does have a charge when the mouse dies. No battery fuss whatsoever. -
I have always wanted to like the Logitech G700. I bought it twice (and returned it twice), because it jsut seems so perfect to me on paper.
But I just can't get used to it. The big problem for me is that it is a heavy rear-balanced mouse that has weird drag characteristics when I use it. -
I know what you mean. I wanted to like the Razer Mamba so bad but I couldn't get used to it's design. My Logitech MX Revolution and MX Performance were heavy rear balanced as well so I guess that is what I'm used too. In fact, I'll probably never be able to use a different shaped mouse ever again.
-
I know what you mean. I just made two profiles so I wouldn't get mixed up to bad. Like all high end Logitech mice, this things performance and features are pretty sick.

with the g700, just leave the charging cable nearby and plug it in when not in use. If you ever run into an issue, you can use it plugged in.
It's a pretty amazing mouse. g700 is a big winner. -
The 2 that I personally own are the Naga epic which has a perfect shape weight I use for my main gaming rig. But when I need something portable I use a ROCCAT Pyra. The Pyra is a little smaller so it takes a little to get used to but for gaming on the move it's perfect.
-
The G700 is a great mouse but can be too bulky/heavy for some people. I agree with Kurt.. the Naga epic is a very good feeling mouse that doesn't get uncomfortable during long sessions. I also like the RAT 9 because of the customization and such (what i use
)

I love my G700. It contours nicely to my claw grip
-
I think that's why I like it so much. I've always used a claw grip and never a palm grip. I also think it's heavy weight allows for better precision. Not to mention, every single button on the mouse is in the perfect spot for my grip. I don't feel like I'm changing my grip just to tap a button.

I hope I am discussing this in the right place.
But is any of you curious about any successor to the Logitech G700?
The G700 has been around for quite some time now, any rumours whether Logitech will release a successor of the G700? -
Probably in a year or a little less. The MX Performance has been around longer than the G700 and it still doesn't have a successor. I think when it comes to high end wireless mice and wireless gaming mice, Logitech usually updates about every 3 years. They won't update them until new technology in either wireless or sensors gets released.
-
The Logitech G700 has been around for about 1 year now. Logitech typically releases product updates every 3 years or so. So no, I wouldn't expect anything to come from Lgoitech anytime soon.

Logitech designs its products around internal components and performance. So any product updates would mean upgrades to the performance of the mouse. And right now, there just isn't a lot of change to mouse performance. A company like Razer may release a new model based on aesthetics (appearance, shape, colored lights). But that isn't something that Logitech would do. As far as they are concerned, the Logitech G700 performs just fine. So there isn't really a reason to update it. -

Owh man.. I gave away my G700 to my little brother months ago since I sold my laptop. Now that I have another laptop, I was thinking of waiting for a successor model. I guess waiting would be pointless then..
Then, will 2 Logitech G700 used in the same place have interference among one another in wireless mode? Might plan to buy myself a G700 again, loved the ergonomics and buttons, not forgetting it's responsiveness and sensitivity, it truly is the best for me!
Well, u're quite right, it is almost flawless actually.
What Logitech could actually improve is the battery life and add on the ability to detect glass or transparent surfaces, then it'll be perfect!
-
Nope, each individual device is uniquely paired to its own receiver. You couldn't swap two G700 receivers even if you wanted to. It's kinda the same way that multiple wireless Xbox 360 controllers or Wiimotes connected to the same console don't interfere with each other.
tl;dr - no. -

Okay, that's cool =)
So, they are no other wireless gaming mouse similiar to the G700 huh?
The four buttons at the thumb area are just nice, never felt any trouble using each of them. Most gaming mice I see have only two while the Razer Naga having too many buttons
Anyway, thanks Mastershroom! -

This forum is a year old, but does anyone know if they have any plans of updating it now?
