Hey, I have a m1530 on the way and I'm looking for a BOOKBAG for it. Messenger bags are not for me. Just wouldn't look right on me

Price Range $20(really no minimum) - 80(though I prefer around $50-60, but will pay 80 if nice enough)

I need a bag that will have at least 2 big openings. Not just one for the laptop. I plan to still use it as a bookbag and the laptop carrying will actually be secondary, seeing as I will go to some classes without my laptop but still have the bag.

I get a lot of handouts and sheets and currently just throw them in a small slot in my current bookbag. But it is not padded enough for a laptop.

Basically what I want is a bag with a laptop slot and a similar slot for loose papers and 3 or 4 notebooks. I plan to use the other big compartment for books, sometimes shoes for the gym, random stuff when traveling back home....

Doesn't need many smaller pockets....just one to three. A small one just for pens, pencils, a mini stapler and a calculator(ti-83).

I hope that describes it pretty well...probably too well and too picky. I want one similar to the logitech kinetik. I really liked that one. The reason I will not buy that one is it looks REALLY high end to me and would be a target for thieves.

Please make some recommendations. Ebay is welcome as well.

    THANKS!!

I needed a bag that would take a beating, safely store my lappy and have enough space for my camera equipment and a book or two, nothing under 80 bucks did the job. I did see a targus bag that fit the bill, but it looked awfully bulky.

I ended up with a Timbuk2 daypack, has a laptop compartment lined with courderoy, and a main compartment with plenty of space, and pockets for my phone, mp3 player, books, documents etc and it looks great, but it cost just a little over 100.

I personally recommend buying a sleeve for your laptop rather than another bag if the bag you have at the moment is sufficient enough to fit a notebook into it that is.

I have heard good things about many different kinds of bags but really what are you after? style, functionality, extra space, extra padding etc are all trademarks of different kinds of bags but there are very few bags that have all these things in one bag.

However if you want a new bag that doesn't shout "STEAL ME, LAPTOP INSIDE" that fits a laptop may I suggest either the North Face's selection of A grade bags (I own the recon), booq's mambo or python bags or maybe even something like oakleys icon 3.0 daypack which is big (I looked at and examined one) but stylish and relatively lightweight and it has a place for everything, with a side loading laptop compartment.

or even bags by ogio have been proven popular, i was pondering over the politican for a while then realized I could not get it in my country ogios site has other great laptop bags on there to.

I've even heard some ADIDAS and nike bags have laptop dedicated compartments in them but you have to shop around a fair bit.

    hope I've helped!

I have a Targus Flare backpack. While it is made for a larger notebook it fits mine snug. It has all the compartments most laptop backpacks have and looks very nice. While its size may scream "steal me Lap top inside". I would never let a backpack with my computer in it out of my site long enough to get stolen.

NOTE: I have only had the backpack for 2 days, and cannot say my opinion will not change, but based on my first impressions and those of people who have review my pak, it is a very good bag.
