Hey everyone. I was looking for a notebook cooler for my Sager NP2090. I really liked the Zalman ZM-NC1000, but from the looks of it, it doesn't seem very comfortable on the lap. I need one that is comfortable on the lap, quiet (this is important), and performs well. I don't want anything of low quality and am willing to pay up to $50 if the cooler is worth. Anybody have any good ideas?

Oh, also, if I have no luck in finding one, I may just get a piece of plywood and use that.

    Thanks

I recommend the plywood :), or one of those TV dinner trays, some sticky tape or blue tack to hold it onto it and some coolaid for the thirst from continuos gameplay on your insane machine.

    I want your laptop

Yeah, but I do want to cool the notebook down a bit to lengthen it's life. Though, if I don't find any good cooler, plywood is better than nothing.

    Make me an offer. :p

OK guys, if I order this online, I need to do it quickly as I'm running out of time. (With 3 day shipping, it may arrive after the long weekend, which will be a problem). If I do run out of time, I'll probably run over to Circuit City or Best Buy and get one from there.

Anyhow, the Targus Chill Mat is the only one I've seen that may be comfortable on the lap. Although, it doesn't seem to be very high quality. Does anybody own this and have any information?

I'm also open to other suggestions.

Does anybody have any suggestions? I didn't get a chance to purchase a cooler this past week. I need one as soon as possible.

i have the chillmat, im not impressed.
waiting for the new CM inifinite to be available

of course i should keep in mind, this cooler would probably work a bit better on a 15" laptop than my 17" laptop.

The Targus is comfortable on the lap, although your 15.4" will overlap the cooler a good bit. It is fairly cheap--my dad's died after 6 months. Mine's 9 months old, but I haven't actually used it in probably 3 so I have no idea if it's still functional.

Edited to add: I just pulled it out of the basement and tried it with my G1S and it's still going strong. It dropped my GPU from 74*C to 69*C in just a few minutes.

Hmm...well I would hope for the cooler to last at least 2 years. Does anybody know of any other similar coolers, but with higher quality?
