Title says it all! Price is not important.. I'm willing to pay anything as long as it types great and looks good -- not too huge and without too many gadgets on it. It can be the simplest keyboard in the world for all I care. What I really want is a keyboard that has a great feel when hitting the keys and typing.

    Any ideas?

the theory behind "das keyboard" is because there are no symbols directly on any of the keys, the user has no choice but to know the keyboard layout cold and thus, they can type faster. it makes some sense, honestly.

hey! thats the new DiNovo!!! it seems thats the vista-ready one! that looks really cool! though the lack of numberpad might be bothersome... that thing is designed for 10-foot UI keyboard.

lol a little TOO hardcore :) I don't need all those gadgets, haha.

Yea looks nice, but $200 is asking a little too much. I would pay it if it was because of build quality or keystroke feel, but this is $200 for crazy materials / unneeded gadgets. Why do I care if its cut from plexiglass? :D

Haha I've been looking at this keyboard for 3 years now. I think it's actually one big joke and will never be released.

Hmm I really like this actually. I love typing on laptops and this keyboard is really plain and stylish. Sleek. Anyone else have experience with it?

**** it, it seems like that black logitech ultra-flat keyboard is only available in Australia, India, and Hong Kong, of all places! I've never heard of a product from an American company being available in another country but not in the US. Especially a nice product like this. Very upset now :(

    Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823109160

If you type A LOT, this would be the perfect keyboard

Here is a review on the MS 4000

I got a black dell keyboard cause I fell inlove when I used it at school. Got it off dell for $ 29 CAD. It's a very small keyboard, save desktop space, black and very good to type on.

that microsoft keyboard is a nice option also; it is comfortable and the middle scroolwheel thing is incredibly innovative (though a bit cheap feeling). though i find the natural keyboard arrangement be a bit annoying... but i'm sure people get used to it pretty fast.

That ergonomic keyboard must make receptionists/secretaries drool, but i tried one of those and that hump was upsetting. I'd suggest one of the new MS Wireless setups. Not sure if you have looked at bluetooth boards yet, but the range is extended and I feel a stronger signal. I had the Apple wireless board 2 years ago and it was awesome, so it should be even better now.
MS Bluettoth boards should run a lil under $100. I am satisfied with my MS 6000 wireless natural keyboard and mouse, just wish it was black instead of silver/grey to match my notebook.

If I were looking for a new keyboard (which I am) the logitech is high on my list. I've seen it and played with it in person, it's BT, sleek and very nice. Also the keyboard is also rechargeable.

If anyone is looking for a laptop-like keyboard, take a look at the Kensington USB Wired Slim Keyboard:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16823155003
I own it, and it is amazing. It has a direct feel, and the sound is very pleasing - it sounds like a not-too-loud but short click. You'll like it more and more as you use it. I have been typing on it since the summer and it hardly shows any sign of wear.
    It's nice and small too.
Best of all, it's only $30.
    Here's a picture of mine:

I bought the Logitech MX3200 desktop (to replace the MX5000, which is truly awful and uncharacteristic of a Logitech product), and love it. The keyboard has got some functions that will make using Vista alot more fun once Logitech releases their Vista drivers (which apparently won't be until the official release). The keyboard is very customizable and types great. The mouse is alright, but I use the Logitech Revolution mouse, which I also highly recommend. In any case, you can get the MX3200 set for about $75, so it's a pretty solid deal.

I have an original Microsoft Wireless Optical Desktop that is going on four years old now that I have always been very happy with, and one of the 'budget' Logitech optical desktops that seems a little 'mushier' but not terribly bad.

People have a love-hate relationships with the IBM Model M - I have many fond memories of my buckling-spring keyboards as a kid, but they are just too noisy for me to use in an apartment with housemates. Still, the tactile response they give is amazing and they are virtually indestructible. Truly excellent engineering that lasts a lifetime.

The 'slim profile' keyboards might be good if you like notebook keyboards. I may get one next time.

Personally, I have a saitek eclipse keyboard. I love the backlight, and I think the key feel is awesome, it's just right for me. A little tension, yet quite responsive.
