Recently I purchased a Asus G73Jw and unfortunately its size is to great for my current pack. With dimension of 16.60" x 12.80" x 0.80" - 2.30", finding a proper fitting backpack is daunting to say the least. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please keep in mind, not only does the pack have to hold my laptop, a mouse, and headphones but also carry college textbooks and binders as well.

i havent got a backpack yet but on the ebags.com site you can put your lappy model in and it will show you which bags will fit it, alot of the bags also have customer reviews which is helpful.

    Timbuk2 Bags - H.A.L. Backpack - Mission6 Nylon Fabric

I have had my eyes on Timbuk2 H.A.L. backpack for a while now. They claim to fit 17" but according to manufacturer still missing .3" in width for G73 (18x12.5).

I just need to find european dealer to avoid import taxes :p

I have this too. Its RIDICULOUS in how much it can hold.
The side pockets you can fit in 3x cans of Arizona green teas. and the inside can hold ALOT. The only downside I'd have to say it has is the weight. It is a bit heavy but its durable.

try looking into Swissgear peagasus or IBEX
Amazon.com: PEGASUS from SwissGear by Wenger Computer Backpack: Electronics

I've tried them and have the Synergy (15") and it fits my M15x very well with loads and loads of space to fit literally everything gadgets, chargers, camera, books, over-head headphones, pair of clothes everything, and thhe Peagasus & IBEX is the 17" version which is way bigger and should be perfect for your needs :)

IIRC almost a year ago, someone confirmed the G73 does not fit into the Pegasus laptop compartment. Just a warning. :)

The Ibex is slightly bigger than the Pegasus in that aspect, but it might take some adjustments to fit it in the sleeve. Other options are the Targus XL and the Alienware Orion.

If you don't mind dropping a little more for a great quality, I'd check out SLAPPA gear. I have one of their backpacks (see my sig for the review if you want) and the material and build quality is really outstanding. I used it few times to carry both of my laptops along with accessories and it just feels great for me.

I also second the Alienware Orion. I bought it for school and for my Asus G73 it holds my books, P.E clothes. Everything i need. The bags current weight is 8kgs and it's holding up well. I was even in the rain and it kept everything dry.

You might want to check out the Mobile Edge Premium as well. It is well-made, will most likely fit your laptop - and the price is less than that of a Slappa. It also sports a somewhat "Metal Gear Solid" mood :)

Several forum members have also emphasized the Slappa, and the Slappa site specifically refers to it fitting the Asus lappie.

Yeah. I carry two pairs of Oakley sunglasses in hard cases one side pocket. The other side pocket holds my power adapters (phone, laptop, gps, etc) I store my laptop, a few books, iphone, headphones, psp system, about three days worth of cloths and it still has room.

Best backpack I've ever owned and I've owned a few.
