mainly, uses are Skype, Ventrillo, WoW...

i travel a lot... USB is nice but not necessary... for some reason, i like the huge look of the AXPC headset but it was getting tad ridiculous...

    looking for a nice alternative...

    any thoughts?

i like the sennheisers... but sadly, they don't make such nice travel types...

i guess what would be nice is to have a swivel ear piece so it can lay flat...

meh... i guess i'm stuck with the AXPC for now...

btw, you got a amp, right?
wonder if that is what i need to work with a sennheiser that i purchased a while ago...

could never get it working on a laptop...
it came without any jacks so i had to solder it myself... wondering if i did it right...

King, check out Beyer Dynamic, they make excellent products, and usually they are pretty stylish.
Audio technica also has some pretty nice stuff.
I am not exactly sure what you are looking for, but I am sure their is some awesome stuff out there which suits you.

Sennheiser is a brand not a headphone.

only high end headphones need proper amps to work best.

    PC series doesnt need amps

Your sennheiser headphones should work without an amp, I'd say that you soldered the termination on wrong.

I use my bluetooth plantronics 590's on the go more than anything, has that little travel pouch for them, very portable and mutliple charge methods. I use them for headphones tho not a headset, they have microphone and can be used as a headset but not with both speakers on. A limitation in current bluetooth tech right now.

    A2DP = High Quality Stereo
Headset = One Speaker Mono + Micorphone (like your cell phone ear piece)

You have to connect them in one mode or another, but not both at the same time.

You can do what I used to do tho, use the headset for voice only, like vent or teamspeak would use the headset for voice and then use the laptop speakers for the game. I always preferred separating voice & game via two sound cards because it let me hear people, when they were together I could hear nothing without turning the game way way down. Bluetooth acts like its own soundcard making this possible.
