I've been using my sister's laptop sleeve lately and it's not holding all my accessories. I'm carrying the the laptop, 4 cables, charger, mouse, and a lock. I was thinking about getting a messenger bag, but I'd also like to use it to carry clothes and other things when I sleep over at my gf's place.

I got the Nike Core backpack but it's kinda uncomfortable.

Dell has the Timbuk2 H.A.L. for $80ish after coupon. I like the look of this one better. Hopefully it's more comfortable too.

    Any other suggestions?

While it was originally designed as a custom case for the HP 20" HDX Dragon and similar size notebooks, and though it might be a bit bigger for what you have, HP's custom Targus Rollercase is exactly what you're looking for, or one that's of similar design. It has a sleeve for the notebook, a clothes compartment underneath that, more than enough room for a dock and cables, batteries, etc. The HDX is not a small system, and I can get 2 adapters, both batteries, clothes, cables and a lot more into mine. It also has side pockets, one of which has a cell phone holder.

It can be used as a Rollercase, hand carried, and it has Backpack Straps. Targus may have a similar case specifically for a smaller unit, but having extra space isn't that bad. It will fit in an overhead bin on a plane, and under a seat in First Class, though I wouldn't recommend it unless you're 5' short.

You can see it on the HP Store site: HP 20" Targus Rollercase

Even if it's bigger than what you're looking for, it will at least give you an idea of what kind of case to look for at Targus. I have a traditional case for my HDX also (Dicota MG) but the Rollercase is my favorite.

I think most bags/backpacks designed specifically for laptops tend to have smaller compartments more suited for office accessories...

One company to look at would be Wenger - Staples stck them in Europe - should be more widespread in the US.

I have a Wenger messenger bag, my mother has a rucksack.

I would like to suggest you try out the Synergy by Swiss Gear! :D It's nearly *all black* with a nice *sheen* of Grey in it. It's a great, durable, sturdy, and roomy backpack. I use it for my XPS 1530 and it work outs very well...and I pack it with a lot of items! :D The Synergy should hold what you need! :D

I've attached some photos for you to peruse if you wish! ;) They are *thumbnailed*, so just click for larger view!

Swiss Gear is a great brand, and a lot of your fellow peeps on the forum are *owners*
