    Hello

    As the topic says.

Should be comfortable for playing games as well.

    Wireless or bluetooth both good.

I will be happy for some recommandations.

My hand is pretty big I mean I am not a small guy :)

Willing to spend up to 50$

    Thanks

If you could increase your budget i could give a few. But cheap, gaming, and wireless do not go well together.

i recommend the logitech nano vx, it has the world's smallest receiver (the nano receiver) so you can just keep it on your laptop all the time

the reason i recommend rf wireless over bluetooth is simple. wireless wakes up faster, (much) lower chance of disconnection.. has a longer distance .. i THINK it also has larger bandwidth (unless you're talking about the newer 2.4ghz bluetooth models).. and wireless mice have more customizable buttons than bluetooth mice (i've looked through bluetooth mice and 100% of them are very simple, just a scroll wheel and left/right buttons, i might be wrong though, can someone show me one that has more functions?)

also, the nano vx battery lasts a LONG TIME, up to 6 months! it basically has the longest battery life of all mice.. and even though it turns off when not in use, it will resume right away when you move it... i am pretty sure that there is a lag with bluetooth mice (people have reported this, and have even compared logitech's bluetooth mouse to the nano vx.. saying that the bluetooth version takes a while to reconnect whereas the wireless rf version is instant). you also have an on/off switch which you can use to bring the battery life well past 6 months

and lastly.. the most important about a laptop mouse.. is your LAPTOP's battery life.. the wireless receiver uses less battery than bluetooth .. it was explained somewhere on these forums. and furthermore.. you also have the option to turn OFF bluetooth if you're using the wireless receiver since bluetooth uses a LOT of battery even if it's not doing anything.. because it's constantly searching for devices.. also, although you can turn bluetooth off when not using the bluetooth mouse, it is very inconvenient because you'll have to use your trackpad to turn it back on every time. and lastly, you can use your wireless mouse on any laptop/desktop regardless of whether it has bluetooth or not.. so it's more convenient if you want to use the mouse on another computer sometimes

so there you have it, although you save a usb port with bluetooth, i really do not think it's worth losing all the benefits .. especially with battery life. (and if you ever need more usb ports, you can get a usb hub splitter.. but i doubt you need that port anyways)

NANO VX (i got mine for 54$+tax+shipping CANADIAN, so you might be able to find it for around 50$ USD)

Yeah, RF mice are more capable than BT, but usually require biggish (ie they break off) receivers, except for the logitech nano. Lag isn't a problem since it only is noticable if the mouse hasn't been used for a few mins.

For gaming a wired mouse is the best option. If not i like the Logitech V470 bluetooth or the Logitech Nano as recommended by Brawn.

BTW bluetooth has a greater range than RF; not a great advantage when using a laptop!

There aren't too many bluetooth mice that will go well with games, if you went rf mice, then I could suggest some.

it's actually quite small... but that's because it's meant for portability. for me, the size is fine, but for big hands.. might not be as good

if you want a bigger mouse, i'd probably have a look at the vx revolution, but the adapter is bigger and will stick out (actually, i'm not even sure if the vx revolution is larger).. personally, i'd just stick with logitech, don't bother with other brands like microsoft.. unless you want a gaming mouse.. then you can go with razer

ahh, good laptop choice. trust me, for portability, definitely go with the nano vx, i'm pretty sure you'll be fine with the size.. but of course, look through your choices and pick which one you think is best

I have a VX Nano and it is definately an awesome mouse, however on a Vaio TT where there are only 2 USB ports (sometimes I want both - for a wireless dongle and an external HDD) so I also use a Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse 5000 - wakeup is very quick, batteries - cannot really say as I have only had it for about a month, about the same size and fit as my VX Nano (however I prefer the 'freewheeling' scroll wheel on the Nano)

Both have their uses as far as I am concerned - for out and about I will use the VX Nano where possible, but when USB ports are limited its far easier to use a Bluetooth mouse than stuff around with hubs and cables!!

    :D

but still, if you're taking your laptop off ac power and want to use your mouse, then bluetooth will use more energy than wireless.. and you also don't get the option to turn bluetooth off to save even more battery life =(

oh btw geekygirl, i'm just curious, where do you get those "sony vaio user" "dell user" banners? i've been seeing people around with those kind of banners and i want to try it out too =)

Personally I dont need to use my laptop unplugged for more than 2 hours at a time so power usage by bluetooth is actually negligble...

lol I got mine from a place called userbars.com - I just searched their userbar archive here: http://archive.userbars.com/

i use the sony vaio bluetooth mouse. it is very responsive and i can happily play Cod 4 with it. think it was a bit more than $50 though. But there is no dongle and ypu can use all of your usb ports.
