Hey guys, my Kingston 8gb is dying slowly and I think I need to grab some good speed thumb drive to replace it. I can't really find information which one is good and fast, and the info that I find is usually from last year.
I'm looking for fast write speed of larger files, in 16gb stick.

Any USB stick will max out at 30MBps, because that is the limit of USB 2.0. Just look for a stick that will read/write at that speed, and you'll be set.

Personally, I own a Patriot XT stick. But you can find several USB sticks from several reputable memory vendors that will perform well, such as Crucial, Corsair, Kingston, Patriot, Mushkin, OCZ, Sandisk, etc.

Here are three articles comparing USB drives, if you really care. But honestly, if I were in your position, I would not care that much. A USB drive is about size, portability, and convenience... not about pure transfer rates.

thx for reply, I actually did not know 2.0 caps at 30mb/s so that makes it easier to pick one.
It's just sometimes hard to pick one, cuz even the manufacturer doesn't list the transfer rates.

That's because USB sticks are not about transfer rates. Convenience, physical size and shape, durability, security features, capacity, and cost are all far more important than transfer rate. People don't use USB sticks because they are fast... they use USB sticks because they are convenient.
