    Hi all,

I'm looking for a keyboard that has the same "typing" feeling as the Logitech G105 keyboard.

For personal preference reasons, I just find that the G105 keyboard feels great while typing: it has crisp keys that aren't mushy like a cheap rubber dome keyboard, but doesn't break the bank like a mechanical keyboard would (on a small budget). Granted, there are better keyboards out there, but I'd rather not spend much more than what I would pay for the G105.

I'm wondering if Logitech makes a keyboard that has the same typing feeling as the G105, or if another manufacturer has something similar. My G105 is branded with a CODMW3 emblem (it's the G105+G9x bundle, got it on sale for very cheap), so I'd rather not bring it into the office; it would be mighty embarrassing in my workspace. So I'm looking for a work-safe looking keyboard that feels and functions similar to the G105.

It doesn't need any fancy media buttons or anything like that. If it had Fn-combo buttons, that would be a nice bonus though.

I guess my price range would be $50 USD (before any S&H + taxes)...

Am I crazy to think that there would be a keyboard out there based what I've described above?

Well you wont find a mechanical one for that price, but i highly suggest going for one. look for keyboards with cherry mx brown switches. They offer a tactile feeling without being too loud to interupt your co-workers. I personally use a blue but thats me. Hope that helped. You wont imagine how much a mechanical keyboard is compared to the membranes. You never know till you try right?

I've got one mechanical keyboard and one buckling spring keyboard at home, but they're the ones from ye olde days: IBM (mechanical) and Fujitsu (buckling spring), both PS/2. I considered bringing one in, but with our paper thin walls at the office for my neighbour it would be like listening to a 1950's mafia shooting up my office.

I'll look into mechanical keyboards for now, but I'd like to try to keep it down to the $50 range.

In this light (budget), what do you think of ALPs keyboards? I've only heard of ALPs switches, but never had any experience with them. I found a few ALPs keyboards for $40, which is definitely in my range.
