I got the W90 on Saturday and its a beast of a machine.

big & heavy. nearly 19" in size and fully loaded.

I was planing on getting the LX Cryo for it but it seems to have really good cooling on its own and the bag does not have room for it. So to save money, weight, and bag space I think I just want a lift for it now instead of a full blow cooler.

I cant type on laptops that lay flat very well.

So anybody have suggestions for a lifter/tilter thing that is portable yet will be big and strong enough to propertly support the W90?

I really wish somebody was smart enough to build in extendable back feet on laptops or have lever bars that fold down from the back side to hold it up.

If its standard on a keyboard, you would think it would catch on for laptops too.

I'll definitely keep that in mind as a 2nd or 3rd option...

Would 2 erasers do? Placed at the right spots, your baby wouldn't wobble either.

On some systems, higher capacity batteries can actually function as tilters. I have an extended 9-cell battery for my Studio 1535, which raises the entire back of the notebook about three quarters of an inch above the desk surface, compared to the standard 6-cell battery, which is completely flat and flush with the laptop's frame.

You know that may just be the way to go, wont take up any space and due to the rubber like nature of erasers it would hold in place well and absorb vibration.

I just need to find some big ones :p as I like a pretty decent tilt

I use twin 4 packs of overhead transparency pens for my D901C (when in use) and my N80vn.

I would go with erasers, but these were just lying around. :D I figured this might work as you were just looking for lift.

I used to use erasers or books that were lying around. Then I cut a piece of floor molding (my house has pretty thick moldings) to put under the rear legs of the laptop. Later, I thought of the best idea: use Knex to build a stand! :)

You could just use 2 plastic water bottle etc. caps to prop up the rear. I don't really need a cooler either but like to have some air flow underneath and also have the keyboard raised. Why buy something big and clunky to haul around? :)
