Mostly used for youtube/recording stuff (no duh).

Not really for IM'ing programs. although maybe once in a while.

I plan on doing some nice recording and using it in a video editing program, to do stuff like game reviews, or just random stuff.

internal mic not needed, but it would probebly be better the the one I have (the one that comes with the iCEMAT siberia, IMO not a great mic, my sisters mic that came with her $15 headset is better quality from what I can tell so far).

I've got a fairly large budget (ie if its worth the money for what I need to do its possible), but really I don't want to spend more then $100, cant see spending more then that on this which is 100% a hobby for fun.

Check out Logitech's Quickcam Fusion, Ultravision, or the Pro 9000. All very excellent webcams. I'm using the Fusion and I've had no issues with it at all.

I'll second the Logitech QuickCam Fusion recommendation above.

+1 on the Logitech QuickCam line. I'm using the overhyped OrbiCam MP. A little heavy on system resources for my emachines, but that'll soon change to the C90.

Great quality and you'll get some pretty outstanding imagery.
