As the title says I'm looking for a good mouse that will work well for gaming and of course general use. Could you fine people make a few recommendations? Willing to spend about $75 to $100ish, maybe a little more.

My top recommendation goes to the Razer DeathAdder. It's extremely comfortable; you can use this thing for hours and forget it's even there. And at 3,500 DPI and 1ms response, it's a top-notch gaming mouse as well. And it's $60, so quite affordable as well.

For your budget you can get the king, if you're looking for wireless one,
    Logitech G700 available for $95 - $99.99

Logitech G700 just came out. But considering the pedigree upon which that mouse was designed, then I wouldn't hesitate one second to recommend it. It has 5000+ dpi and up to 1000Mhz USB polling rate. It is a mouse that cna be used as a 2.4Ghz wireless mouse (with low-profile nano wireless receiver). It comes with a micro-USB cable that can be used to charge the rechargeable battery and/or use the mouse in wired mode.

I just bought two Logitech Performance MX mice a few weeks ago, and am kicking myself for not waiting and getting the G700.

Nothing beats the Chinese Sidewinder knock-off, it's such a good mouse and so cheap, check the link in my signature.

I'm going to have to go with the Logitech G700 as well. I'm not a big fan of wireless mice, especially when it comes to gaming, but the G700 is quite nice. It has the same ergonomic shape that made the venerable MX518 mouse so incredibly successful, and it's construction and overal quality, I feel, is better than anything that Razer can offer.

But anyway, here are some alternate choices to the G700:

    Logitech MX518
    Logitech G9
    Microsoft Sidewinder series
