that is kinda my specs, as small as possible, and would like to have a nice UI and such (and i dont want to use a program other than WMP or itunes, but that isn't too big of a deal, but it does need to play music purchased from itunes)

Two options I can think of: Sandisk Sansa View and Creative Zen. I first got a 16GB View but it under-delivered. Various firmware problems which are waiting to be fixed while putting an SD card in the slot massively hit the battery life. I also found the View a little long to fit in my pocket. So I've now bought a 32GB Zen which, so far, has behaved as it claims. It is, in my opinion, a better shape and the text display is landscape. It also has a standard mini-USB connector so that's one less cable to carry around.

The Creative Zen that John recommends, is an excellent option. You could also consider the Toshiba GigaBeat series.

That zen sounds like it should work for you, seeing how you use itunes music. I personally have the zen and don't much like it for me. I purchased a Cowon D2 and I'm MUCH more happy with it than the zen. That being said, for you though, I think the zen should be a good player, its better than an ipoo in every way IMO.

You can only play music purchased from iTunes on an iPod. If you're willing to accept that you won't be able to play your tracks on a different MP3 player, a Creative Zen should do just fine. Good screen size, and it has expandable memory via the SD/SDHC slot. It works with WMP also.

You won't be able to play itunes-purchased music (except for the "iTunes Plus" DRM-free stuff) on anything but an Apple iPod... unless you unlock it with something like the program in the article Syndrome linked to.

If you can manage with only 16gb, you could look at the Sony Walkman A729 or A829. They do support AAC files, but not if Apple's DRM is attached.
