MICROSOFT NOTEBOOK OPTICAL 4000 VS. LASER 6000 MOUSE
Which would you choose among the two and why? What are their advantages/disavantages? I'd use them purely for my notebook as i have another mouse for my desktop. I also want to consider the Logitech V450 but it doesnt have an extra button near the thumb which i need to assign to PASTE.
Are the microsoft notebook mouse much larger than the logitechs? Im kinda keen on getting a small mouse only..... I dont want the big ones. The smaller the better....
oh and what looks better for you? the optical 4000 seems to have a cool color combination than the 6000... or am i wrong? i havent really seen the 4000 and the 6000 upfront as im from another country so im gonna buy this based on your comments... thanks

Ive got the notebook Laser 6000 and compared to my cousins logitech v400, it's about the same size...maybe a little slimmer than the v400.

oh wow... and i thought the V450 is smaller.....
umm the V400 and V450 are the same in size right? -

Actually I have both. The color scheme on the 4000 is really nice and matches my notebooks color configuration. The 6000 matches the color scheme of my other notebook as well. They both have the same shape and are quite comfortable in the hand. One drawback is the position of the button, IMHO it seems a little to far forward, but is not a deal breaker.
They both have the extra button on the side and is quite useful. You can actually assign several different "commands" to the button (though only one can be assigned at a time). The list is quite extensive so you should be able to assign just about any function you might need.
The tracking on both is quite impressive. Honestly is sometimes its hard to distinguish between the two. However the 6000 does edge out the 4000 in performance.
Another drawback that I have noticed is the Intellipoint software. On my Compaq the software works flawlessly. However, on my Fujitsu the software disables my Screen Saver. When I remove the software and drivers everything works as it should. Weird!
Hopefully this helps your decision. -
what would you think would match better for my HP DV2000t notebook? It seems both the 4000 and 6000 have the same pros and cons from other review sites.....

From just a color standpoint, which is what I think you asking, then the 4000 would be my choice. The black and grey looks better than the all silver one, IMHO of course.

the 6000 is an all silver one? isnt it like white/silver? sorry as we dont have that product where i live. i plan to get it online only

Its a two-tone. The sides are of a light grey and remaining being of a silver color.
