To anyone using this mouse, who is also using their built-in Bluetooth adapter instead of the Logitech dongle: does your mouse ever disconnect from the laptop, especially while doing intensive tasks such as gaming, and is it difficult to get it reconnected? Does it struggle mightily to connect after a system standby?
I love this mouse. It works so well when it works. But it can be such a pain in the neck when it won't stay connected. I really need a support group on this.

MX1000 isn't a Buetooth mouse.

The only time I had problems with it disconecting and not reconnecting was when I had the logitech software installed. And yes I got the new version from their website. I love logitech but man that program really sucks. I could only get it to reconnect after shutting the wireless off then back on and doing the same with the mouse. Plus the software disabled my Fn key for some reason and I couldnt dim my screen when using battery power so I just got rid of it and everything on the mouse works perfect (except the little button in the center of the forward/back buttons, gotta have software to program that).

there is a bluetooth version of the mx1000 but you have to buy it with the keyboard combo, its called the mx5000. I bought it a few months ago, horrible, returned it in a week. will not use bluetooth mice or keyboard until it becomes mainstream, maybe after a couple of years when they get their act together.

my work mx1000 had connection issues. since i have one at home that disconnects maybe... 3 times a year, i knew it wasn't right. so i called logitech support and whatever they told me to do, i told them it didn't work. i had a brand new mx1000 in a week and didn't have to send back the offending mouse. -
That sounds pretty nice, maybe I'll give them a call. The big question, though, is does the new mouse work?
Do you, by chance, remember the number you called? -
I have yet to have a problem with my mx1000, next to the fact that mouse 4 and mouse 5 are not recognized as such.....
-
I don't have built-in bluetooth, but don't use the Logitech Dongle either (that is in the desktop with the MX5000 keyboard). It holds connection properly with my Bluetake dongle unless I'm using my HT820 headphones as well, then one or the other typically doesn't work right.

how are your MX 1000 mouse's battery holding up after X years?
i just got my MX 5000 today and so far no BT problems or disconnects yet -
I've had my MX1000 for about 1.5 years... battery still holds up pretty well.
-
I've had my normal MX1000 about a year, no problems. Only had the bluetooth one a few months.
-
I have had mine for about a year with NO problems. And they are now selling this WITHOUT the keyboard.

What? Where?

expensice, but concidering the small two button v270 is $50, its not that bad for what your getting -
That's not the Bluetooth version... and you're right, it is expensive. I got the MX1000 Bluetooth and the MX5000 keyboard for less than that.
-
get the @(*&@( out! SHouldn't it have a different name or model number if its not Bluetooth? That makes NO sense.
My bad -
only difference is the bluetooth logo -
I bought a MX5000 BT combo 28 days ago, and will be returning it this evening. The keyboard works great, but the mouse... OHHHH THE MOUSE!!! For the past 28 days I've been trolling the logitech support forums, trying different drivers, and just spending too much time trying to figure out why the mouse constantly disconnects. It's the most annoying mouse I've ever owned. Period.
It sucks because there is not much of a selection when it comes to bluetooth mice, and I was really looking forward to using this feature of my notebook.
In order to keep my sanity, though, I'll probably end up just going usb. I can never go back to optical though!Last edited by a moderator: Jan 29, 2015 -
What kind of laptop do you have (i.e. what Bluetooth adapter were you using)? When would it disconnect, randomly at any time or only while doing certain tasks? What steps did Logitech have you take in trying to fix it?
-
It's been a year now, there's gotta be more people with this.
1) Does it have long wake up time?
2) Is it more accurate than MX900 bluetooth?
3) Does it take normal AA or AAA batteries?
4) Is it a pain in the ass overall? -
Had this mouse over a year. Actually own both MX1000 with one being bluetooth and the other not. Used the bluetooth with my new Asus laptop and had no disconnects at all. Bluetooth version is a better mouse. Smoother scrolling and such. Feels more accurate. With laptop BT means no dongle. Excellent mouse!

ScifiMike12 Drinking the good stuff
1. It may fall asleep (man that sounds funny) but it all it takes is the slightest movement and the mouse responds in 1 second. Pretty good for my tastes.
2. I don't know.
3. Mine is lithium rechargable. Lasts for hours. Charging is rather fast too.
4. It's only a pain when my laptop doesn't recognize it or I have to keep adding it to the BT list. But that is more of a software issue. Now that Logitech has their newest SetPoint, I have not had an issue since.
