Did you hear the response time on the Rat 9? Wireless 2.4 Ghz with 0.01 millisec. lag!
All metal construction and up to 56 programmable buttons... I just pee'd a little.

He mentioned around April for release date. Wonder if that is a Euro release date.

My last Cyborg mouse was great. Until the left mouse butting started squeaking and not responding. All metal construction it may be, but with Saitek quality control... who knows if it's any good.

However like a mug I will be buying it :p

I want to see how true that actually is...as it is, the top of the line gaming mice from Razer, Logitech and others are down to 1ms in wired or wireless modes...I can't fathom how Saitek claims to have cut that down to 1% of 1ms in wireless.

It's between this and the Razer Mamba for me. Looking for a new wireless mouse, and I thought the Mamba is as good as it would get for big hands. No gimmicky lights is also a nice touch for the mouse.

If the Mamba's lights bother you that much, you can disable them. :p

I'll vouch for its shape being excellent for large hands, I have the DeathAdder which is virtually physically identical. My gorilla paws love it.

That thing is a beast and an eyesore. It seems like the ergonomically design would be beneficial but I don't think I would want that thing uglying up my desk.

Eyesore? I'm assuming you hated the Thumbler from Batman Begin? That's what this mouse reminds me of, the Thumbler. I really like it but I'll wait to see how good it really is after some reviews.

Haha, the Thumbler. Daddyd, nice description for it, fits perfect. The shape of a mouse has been around forever and although i know you can only make so many shapes that will fit comfortably under your palm, they went outside the box.

I heard it will only run on a titanium mat or it will ruin your desk! ;)

Whoa... the Mad Catz Cyborg Rat looks simply awesome but by looking at it, I get the feeling that probably either my fingers or the palm of my hand would get pinched in-between the adjustable parts of the mouse.

Not that Mad Catz would be so careless they would not design it with safety in mind, but I got that feeling nonetheless.

I will not get my hopes too high before than seeing the actual specs on this new mouse, but if they are good enough I will have a hard time choosing between the Razer Mamba and this one.

Anyone knows or wants to take a guess what the DPI on it will be?, I hope for something higher than 4,000 DPI.

I just hope that it meets my standard...

Either it is responsive, fast and comfortable enough to lay a firestorm of lead upon the heads of an entire opposing brigade with a sniper rifle in less than 3 seconds in a First-Person-Shooter game, or it is not worthy of me.

Holy crap!!! This looks AMAZING!!!! I need one of these soooo bad. I ;ove the design, bit iffy about the 0.01ms response time in a wireless mouse. Costs ~170 American dollars for the 9.

For me, that would be a turn off. I like my mice as light as possible, that's why I love my DeathAdder. When I had a Logitech G9, I always used it without any weights in the cartridge, and when I use my Orochi in wired mode, I take out the batteries.

hmm i wouldnt think so. from the Rat 9 video, it sorta looks like it would be in there tight or would have some sort of locking system. considering its upwards of £100, i dont think it would have that type of problem :D

My bet is that it'll fall apart in a remarkably short period of time. The build quality of Saitek and it's sub/super-brands has never impressed me and there's no reason to suspect they've suddenly taken a quantum leap forwards. I'll buy it anyway of course, but that's my guess.

haha yeah has anyone ever wrote them? if i had to wait three months id ask for ym money back. write them and tell them you either want a ETA or your money back.... maybe then they will tell you, and when you find out tell us, i want one real bad too. Just for the fact the batteries are hot swapable, i wanted a mamba until i found out you have to bring that stupid charging center around you everywhere u go? i hope the rat has a little USB dongle instead... because i dont want to have to bring that everywhere i go.

Fortunately I am not yet charged. I will be once the product is being shipped but this waiting ends up to be ridiculous.
I don't want to disappoint you but I believe that for at least the 9 series we may have to carry lots of stuff around...

    IT'S THE MISSING LINK.

On a serious note, I'm wondering if the Cyborg really can adjust to fit your hand, Stam. A Sidewinder X8 is, what, 128mm long. A MS Habu--which is basically a Razer Deathadder that Shroom the Breadcrab suggested--is a little bit smaller than that... and I consider that a full-bodied mouse. Yow.

All those gaps and joints might pinch you in unfortunate places. Or something. It looks more like a Decepitcon than a mouse, to tell the truth. The features do look promising, as does the construction.

I hope a retailer carries those so I can check the shape and heft for myself.
