    Hi,
Will be getting my new NB within the next month and will have a bit of money spare and was considering getting one of these. Has anyone on here got a pair? Would like to know how good they really are, particularly how good the bass is and whether the 5.1 is really believable. Have also read somewhere that since the mobile version does it works in software it doesn't catch the whole part of the song, e.g. like all the instruments etc. (sorry not knowledgable on audio, :( )

Will be using these for gaming aswell as music/movies, so since a laptops speakers aren't that great I thought this would be a cool gadget to have, but at around £50, wanna know if its worth it.

I've heard this aswell but I will be getting a dual core processor so I guess that would cancel out that problem, or not?

its not that severe problem ,and if you have a DC processor it would be able to handle it .
only think of the moments that you would like music and lots of cpu power .
but have you thought of pcmia soundcards like audigy ? what pccard format do you have ? if you have express card than you have to buy a usb soundsystem or wait till express soundcard are availiable

I've got a pair of the medusa 5.1 headphones that have the audio plugs and stuff. They're decent. You have to fiddle with the speaker volumes to get the sound to sound right. It seems like the different position speakers also send different frequencies of sound to you...

I wouldn't buy them again, unless I was going to start playing more multiplayer games with voice chat. Reason being, you want to use a microphone and headphones for voice chat, and they do feel nice in games for that whole surround thing, just not as nice as real surround.

That isn't the mobile version. It's the one that's got three inputs and its own little amp.
