How is the memory stick supposed to be ejected from the HP dv6000 6 in 1 card reader? I did the safely remove hardware and everything, but the card seems to be stuck in the reader. I understand that you have to push it in to release it but that doesn't work so would tweezers be the next step? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

If its like an SD card (I'm pretty sure it is) then you would be able to pull it out with a fingernail (or tweezers). Just don't force it too hard, incase there is something important that is preventing it from exiting. Also, have you ever had trouble before? Do you use the card reader often, or was this the first time?

Was it a loose fit when you inserted the card?

I am wondering if you inserted a MS duo into a standard memory stick slot. MS duo requires an adaptor to fit into such a slot.

Use tweezers to get it out. You could also try tilting the laptop and gently shaking to see if it comes out.

Well it actually worked so I don't think I needed an adapter but I just needed to make sure it would be ok to use tweezers. Thanks guys.

Turn off the system and disconnect from the A/C adaptor & remove the battery as well. This should ensure nothing shorts out while you use the tweezers. Gently pull it out and dont try to force it out if its stuck. Also tilting the laptop might help in getting it out.

But you do need an adaptor to use the MS Duo sticks. Otherwise you would have to turn off the system/battery then pulling out with tweezers everytime you use it. It doesnt cost much but it is safer and easier to use.

First, you have to be calm and not in a hurry.
Second, turn off and remove battery.
Third, do not use anything like a hook, it may damage inside.
Fourth, use a desk lamp and point it to the laptop.
Fifth, get 2 small flat screw drivers (those for open very small screws like in watches). Tilt the laptop with the card outlet toward the light so that you can see inside. Put the two flat ends of the screw drivers on both side of the card and press hard together toward the card. And try to move it out. It should work as it worked for me.

    Good luck.
