I just bought a microphone for my laptop (m1210). Im having major problems trying to get it to work.

At first, in the windows recording program, It would record, but the bar wouldnt move at all, and it would be very low volume. I have tried unmuting the input volumes, mic boost, and everything, but it wont register. Now after messing around, it will not record anything. I have it plugged in to the microphone jack, and I dont know what to do. Im trying to use it for teamspeak.

All I know is that when it did record, it was only when the volume option for "line in" was chosen. When I put it to microphone, it wouldnt record

I think you need a mic pre-amp. What kind of mike is it?
