I've been shopping around for laptop locks all summer and I've heard that the DS is the best. It's not a combo lock and it's a flat key so the ballpoint pen trick doesn't work. However, it seems to have increased in price lately. In the middle of June I was seeing it in the 30's on ebay. Now the cheapest one that I can find is $47, with the exception of one on ebay that's so cheap i suspect it might be a scam or stolen goods. Is the level of protection provided by the DS worth the extra $20ish over its peers?

If you don't mind to carry one more key on you or afford to lose the key, then I guess the DS is fine. I have a Kesington with rotary wheels with number, no need of a key.
