Hi all, I have a Microsoft 3000 Wireless USB mouse, and it is very laggy. I changed the battery, and it still lags to the point to where I can't use it. It is like it studders when I am using it, and then it will go back to normal, then it will studder again. Any ideas on what I should do?

Does it happen on all surfaces ?
Have the Task manager running and see if CPU usage goes up when it happens.

It seems to just do it on mousepads. When I use it on my desk, it gets bearable, but not like it used to be. The CPU stays normal when it happens also.

Try using it on a blank sheet of white paper; that usually works for me. I once had an unbranded optical mouse which refused to work on most surfaces except on white paper.

Or just go and get a Logitech mouse and be done with it...

Yeah, I am using my mom's Logitech V220 right now, and this thing works great!
