Read this review and after looking at Microsoft's site and the comment about losing the transponder, I was thinking this was a bluetooth transponder and usually I don't use them and just use the bluetooth of the laptop.
But it seems this mouse lacks bluetooth so you HAVE to use that transponder?
Ugh. Anyone have experience with this?
If so, I'm sure there are some good threads but any similar mice you can recommend or just any MS bluetooth mouse works fine?

It uses standard RF not Bluetooth, therefore you need that dongle.
For normal work any BT mouse will work fine. Take a look at Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000, and Logitech V470 Laser mouse. A quick google search will turn up more. -
Ugh, thanks for the quick response. I thought I found my love.
Why would they develop a new mouse with a nice feature and leave off Bluetooth. Ahh well, back to the drawing board. -
It should have been obvious, they don't advertise or state that it even has bluetooth.
