I recently added bluetooth to my Vostro 1400. One reason I added it was to lose the usb sitck that comes out of the side of my laptop for my wireless mouse. I am torn between the Logitech V470 and the Microsoft 5000. Has anyone had any experience with any one of these. Does you wireless network interfere with your use? Is there any lag? Thank you.

the 5000 feels really cheap, and the scroll wheel is clunky and very annoyingly clicks as you roll it. I have a v270 currently and want to replace it.

I actually cant find a better mouse. I tried the MS presenter mouse. It claims to be a BT mouse but only functions properly when you use the included BT dongle.

So since the v270 cannot be purchase the only good option is the v470

i bought the Microsoft 8000 Bluetooth mouse on ebay, and it is perfect for me.

i always hated notebook mice because they were too small for my hands, and this is just the right size (i.e. not huge!). the bluetooth hasn't cut off once, and i play games with it, and it doesn't skip a beat.

i really like the smooth-scroll, and although others have complained about the middle-button being hard to press, i don't think its a deal breaker (just got to get used to it).

one of the best features about it, is a battery life of about 2 weeks (while on pretty much all the time), and that beautiful aluminium palm-plate which is usually comfortably cool and keeps the palm from sweating.

all that!, and the intellipoint software works properly and offers tons of customisation.

yep well as far as i can tell, it didn't lag at all. the laser mouse is state of the art.

i've tried it with COD4, gears of war and C&C3. those are my types of games, but it works very well with them.

Well, I got it and it was DOA. Windows said it was connected and to use the mouse to press okay. Well, I couldn't ever get the mouse to move. Thankfully, I bought it from Newegg and returning it will be a breeze. Now I just to drop it off at the UPS store.
