Hey all. I spent the last 2 weeks or so reading tonnes of reviews about mice, after having spent yet another couples of weeks researching headsets (and settling for the Logitech G930 set). I was torn between having a Logitech couplet (aka buying the G500 mouse) or the current Razer kingpin, the Razer Mamba. The G500 had lots of positive reviews, and seems to be entrenched as a favourite among gamers. The Mamba, on the other hand, is touted as being the first "true wireless gaming mouse", since it guarantees zero lag and has a great range of features to boot. Unfortunately its price is a bit too steep, and I was considering buying a used one when I came across the Naos 5000

For those who haven't heard about them - they're a Swedish company and entered the fray a couple of years ago, as far as I know. Truth be told, the first Naos mouse I came across was the 8200 version, which has a DPI of 8200... way too much for my needs. A bit of quick searching brought me to the Naos 5000. It has every feature that I was looking for - one of the best ergonomics in mice, extremely comfortable, great looks (the G500 is rather ugly I think), customizable weights, rubber finish (which was the reason why I was going all out for a Mamba) and a 4 programmable buttons aside from the 2 mandatory ones + clickable scroll wheel. It's wired, but as long as it meets all of my other needs, I don't mind.

Does anyone here have one of these critters, or maybe the smaller 3200/bigger 8200 siblings? I'm looking to order one for 65 euro, and although it's a bit over my 50 euro budget on a mouse, if it's worth it I'm getting it

It's not a contender for greatest FPS or RPG gaming mouse, but it is up there in the running for the best overall use mouse with all the bells and whistles.

Ergonomics are very subjective. That said, I bought a Naos 5000 the first day they were available in the US makret, and liked it quite a bit. A very large mouse, nearly twice the size of a small grip G9x for example, but a great feel for certain. Sounds odd to say, but the extra support on the right pinky and ringer finger was great for extended use. Do not plan on using it if you are left handed though.

I'm a lefty but use my right hand for the mouse. I've decided to go for the 3200, unfortunately my warranty extension turned out to be more expensive than I thought so I have to cut some corners. I'll test its weight at a local shop, as I heard it's a bit too light for some people. If it works well, I'll buy it. If not, I'll go for the Gigabyte M8000X although I think it's a bit too narrow. Ergonomics and comfort are a must for me, and since I'm a palm-gripper, the design of the Naos was too neat to pass up, even if I'll end up with limited DPI choices

I'm a palm gripper and I own three of the things: 2 5000 and 1 3200. It fits me like a glove, but definitely not for everyone.

Thanks for the heads up tijo! Did you have any particular issues with the 3200? I heard its optical sensor can muck up sometimes
