I'm looking to purchase a mouse with a ability to charge through USB. It doesn't have to be a mobile mouse though. I've looked at the Sidewinder X8 which charges through USB but i'm not sure if the Orochi does. Any others I should look at?

Well how much do you want to spend Jeeves? I'm looking at the Logitech MX series. It's ridiculously expensive, but I have Logitech now, and even aging it's as solid as a rock.

The Razer Orochi doesn't charge via USB; it runs on two normal AA batteries in Bluetooth mode, but if they die on you, you can just plug it in and it works perfectly in wired mode with dead batteries (or no batteries at all). If you ask me, the Orochi is everything you could ever want in a laptop mouse. As a bonus, it includes a nice pouch to carry everything (fits the Orochi itself, as well as the USB cable for wired mode).

Peculiar looking thing. -
Even if you're not a gamer, the Orochi is a fantastic notebook mouse. It's got the portability of a compact Bluetooth mouse with the fail-safe backup and performance of a USB wired mouse. -
The best mouse with usb charging for me right now would be Logitech Performance MX with darkfield
the only downfall is the max dpi 1500.
The battery is a rechargeable AA battery so it is replacable if already worn out.
Or use any Alkaline AA if you want.
Can charge via USB cable or AC to usb converter adapter, and you can still use the mouse while on it, you can even use the mouse without battery while plugging into USB/AC adapter -
The Microsoft Mobile Memory Mouse 8000 is a good choice. It runs on one rechargeable AAA battery that charges through USB. It has dual mode Bluetooth and wireless with a dongle. The biggest plus is its price, though: it used to be $99, but now it's $25.
